on a side note, i wonder whatever happened to the caricatures that were hung up in the old supporters club bar?? 'spanky' dyson was my favourite...could the flag not incorporate some of those styles?

I'd definitely add Rosenfeld and Ramsden to the list if Nero and Costin are on it !!

Ramsden was the youngest to win the Lance Todd trophy not the captain, i think that was Russ Pepperell, though i'm sure one of the more 'experienced' posters will correct me if i'm wrong !!

Too many on the list from the super league era, got to be a bit more diverse, as previously stated, no Rammy ar Rossy, come on there are other candidates not mentioned, would like to have my boyhood heroes in the list, Tommy Smales and Spanky Dyson

personally id like to see it being a super league era flag

we have a great past, a long long time ago which is great and should never be forgotten, as was the case last year when the club had the centenary year and even an alternative shirt with a picture on... so felt that we could have a modern look for this seeing as they older generation had their limelight last year

dont forget you cant really have that many players on one flag! 4 maximum maybe!

so maybe 2 from the past and 2 from super league era could be a good idea to please everyone

A Rosenfeld 366 tries in 287 games
Harry Lodge who was there at the begining of RL and played a really important part in the setting up and running of Fartown for twenty years
Ken Senior a real Hometown player who played for 17 years

I just think that to have players like Nero / costin etc in compared to legendary figures of the game like those above is a bit wrong.

I like the idea of the legends flag however as it is clear in this discussion everyone if going to feel like someone has been missed. I wonder if we put this idea on the back burner for a bit and revisit it maybe at a stage when the flag fund has already got some in the collection. I think a flag with the logo on and an inspiring message could be a good way to go

How about a flag that is a Huddersfield roll of honour then pick a player from say each decade.There have been some terrific players over the years but we cannot have every one of them on the flag.
