| Opening "away" game v Hull FC at Headingley Sun 28 March 12 30 KO
Tough start, but probably the pick of the opening round of games. Two teams who might be expected to challenge the top 4.Early chance to judge what level we might be at,because now we are only potentially a decent side due to all the new signings.
Though it's not ideal,I for one certainly enjoy the double headers shown on TV.

| So many strap-lines for this game. Take your pick! It will be Interesting to see how Brett does with FC, how Connor goes at full back now he's been given the 1 shirt, how Jones goes against a club who many FC fans thought he let down, and how the players react to Ian Watson.
Lots of reasons to be excited for this game. Can't wait to see how we line up. No idea who will play FB or partner Sezer, who will the 2 centres be? What sort of bench will we have?

| Connor is talented, can cause some havoc if given the space.
I have Tuimavave as their biggest threat in the backs though.
Hull FC as in recent times will have the crop of harder than nails pacific island heritage forwards.
Reynolds has come with a big reputation from NRL as a playmaker.
Brett Hodgson - not followed his coaching career that closely.Guess he knew that moving in at Hull FC the pressure and expectancy on him would be massive.
As a player Brett was arguably our best overseas signing of the SL era, helping to guide us to our last Wembley final, and then the play off semi final a year later. Some great memories during that period.

| Just a few days to go now and I can feel the excitement building on here.
After Leeds run out can only think it will be nothing fancy just trying to take any opportunities that come off the back of the defence. Looks like some of our forwards have reverted from smoothflow to original bitter. Great to see.
Like to see Cogger start in the halfs, impressed already, so Gaskell to full back.

| Big first 2 games. Hull and Catalan both expected to be similar to us around 4th, 5th and 6th.
Got to think we will gel as season develops - I’d take 1-1 after first 2 games.

| Will be interesting to see how we go against teams with big packs. That is my one worry about the season. Is the pack big enough particularly when the weather is not the best

| When looking through your side, I do think you look a little light at Prop - but remains to be seen

| O.A-B out,so 1 to 7 is a foregone conclusion I reckon.
The new improved for 2021 James Gavet recipe might mean one side of the front row is taken care of. No Michael Lawrence in the squad but Matty English included.
Speculating he might go with the following -
Gaskell
Jez Jake Ricky Darnell
Sezer Cogger
Jones
McQueen Edwards
English Cunningham Gavet
Yates,Greenwood,Ashworth,O'Brien/Wilson
(Trout,Cudjoe,Russell,O'Brien/Wilson)

| Outmuscled, outenthused, outthought, outsmarted, completely outplayed. So far, lucky to have nil.
A lot of work for Watson to do.

| That was utter gash, hopefully Watson now realises that however good Ollie Russell looks in training he aint no super league player. Would have been 40-0 if Hull had not been rusty. I was at least hoping for an expansive style of play, but no same old one up e, only time backs touch the ball is to run out of defence.

| Fairly obv already we lack real size in the front row to bother a team like Hull in 2021, though Watto seems to be getting the best out of James Gavet which is a massive plus. Because of that lack of size up front maybe it's time to get Louis Senior and Sam Wood onto the wings now, big lads with plenty to prove get us close to half way on plays 1 and 2 kick returns. Without Cunningham locking up the middle ruck we were constantly on the back foot at the start of second half so got no decent field position, in fact just constantly on the back foot throughout the whole game.
