Woolford hopefully flying in Thursday paperwork permitting- will be jet lagged but present at the game.

Brough back- so no doubt the RFL will put Child in charge of this one.

Jerry potentially could be back- big shot in the arm if he is- will lift the team -id be tempted to leave turner in the halves and keep Mamo on a wing - will keep wakey guessing as to which side our main threat is on. wardle probably won’t be available so turner may have to go in at centre again. If so does Ollie get another shot?

Let’s hope the new coach syndrome well and truly kicks in and we move through to the next round. Wakey had been Playing less well
Of late but hammered KR today.

Grix wimped out of this one- let’s make sure Jowitt is put under pressure. They have a big pack do our forwards will need a big game. And brough will need to turn Fifita and Pauli round and round.
Hope the wakey fans try to wind broughy up again- he lapped it up last time and had a blinder.

A very controversial statement. Yes personally I would- but I’d have most of the rest of the forum down on me like a tonne of bricks as they couldn’t wait to get shut.

But - he would have been pooping his pants at the thoughts of the wind in that stadium and broughys spiralling bombs- he knows what he can do, and he knows once he drops one his game goes to pot.

Woolford now not expected to be here for the game on Friday. expected in the country on Monday.
hopefully could mean we get three games worth of “new coach syndrome” from the players. Town staying in the premiership, players coming back into contention from injury so a real feel good factor around the club right now.
Forecast dry bright and a nice swirly wind- perfect for broughs boot!

grix needs a shoulder op so hardly wimped out, he is safe as houses under the high bomb!! but still a liability so shame hes not playing.

shame woolford not here yet.

not so sure about the 'feel good factor' about town staying up, what with all the vile some of their fans give us

It was touch and go at the start but the lads came good.
I think what started our turn round was Wakefield opting to run (more than once) instead of taking two points and us putting in a great defensive session to keep them out. Got our heads up and theirs down.
Matty English- brilliant! His enthusiasm lifts the squad- that tackle on Fifita? Threw down the gauntlet. Having these youngsters come in and put in MOM performances has helped galvanise our squad.
Wakey have a big pack and are obviously used to bullying teams- they are t used to little guys like brough, o brien and Mamo giving it them with aggression and they didn’t know how to cope with it. They pooped their pants. Mamos tackle- Funny as!
Mamo was brilliant defensively tonight- his desire to get to the runner and try to make the tackle allowed the others to cover a pass or offload - Mellor ran hard, Rankin safe as houses at the back and some of turners passing was excellent. We scrambled so well for each other and really worked hard to deny Wakefield.
We still need to improve a LOT - but the willingness to work for each other is a massive positive.

Said a while ago, Matty English might not be the biggest, but he is an old school prop forward in a young body, he has all the skills and knows how and when to use what he has. That lad has a big future ahead of him. Got to say it was a toss up between him and ukuma for MOM as both were excellent and the best forwards on the pitch. Mamo was great defensively at centre today, tackled everyone around the legs. stopping them dead.

I did think the stop, start nature of the game due to the over officiating of the ref really played into our hands, as early doors Wakey were really moving the ball well and i thought we were in for a thumping. Glad to see us show some grit and determination though and actually look a little more dangerous in the opposition 20.

Was really pleased that Matty English got the MOM, and he was absolutely made up! Glad to see the Giants playing with a lot more spirit and determination. Still making a lot of errors and giving silly penalties away but a vast, vast improvement on the rugby we have seen earlier this season......
