| Four years is surprising however a lot weren't happy when we signed Brughy so time will tell.
Hopefully we have had a thorough medical done and put a fitness clause n the contract !!

| Four years is a long contract for Gaskell, from June 2015 to October 2016, he missed 36 games out of 52 due to 3 different injuries.

| Wow, 4 years? No wonder there were rumours you were trying to off-load the guy. Still, full credit to his agent for getting a 4 year deal for a guy who's not actually been able to play one full season in his career

| 4 years is crazy, hopefully he took a smaller salary for extra time.
I don't think we can justify every dodgy signing by saying some weren't happy with the Brough signing.

| 4 years is extreme but I think he could go well. Going to be interesting to see where he will fit in the 17. He's certainly better than Jamie Ellis when fit and can also cover FB and Centre. I presume fergy will be announced this week as well. I'd then like to see 2 quality signings. A full back and a prop or a full back and a centre if Wardle goes.

| Good luck to the guy, I hope he's lucky with injuries and goes on to become a mainstay in our 17 on match day.

Wasn't 2 of them a Broken Jaw from foul play and a Kidney injury due to colliding with the post?
Don't think he has issues with fitness or injuries.
Hamstring injuries are the devil and once they hit then they are very hard to gauge when they heal.
I think that is sorted and the 4 years is a statement to when plans are. I dont think he will be here to be a back up. He's not a young lad now looking to improve from game time. He's 26 and done some great things in the game. Can only be healthy for the Huddersfield Squad to have Gaskell, Brough and Brierley fighting for 6 and 7 shirt.

| With Brough approaching retirement this could be a shrewd move
Gaskell won't have the issues he obviously had at the Bulls and definitely does have the pedigree to make it in the top of the game
Could be an excellent tie in with Brough, Gaskell and Brierly now with the latter two representing our long term future

| Good signing again. 4 year contract is generous, but probably a good move. It'll secure his future and allow him to become a leader within the squad.
I think he'll surprise a few people and will offer what we need in the squad.

Could be good for the future when Danny retires, but what about for now, will Rick try him at full back or centre, only other option is maybe Ryan to full back and Lee in the halves, although RS doesn't appear to like this option of Ryan at FB. My concern is the 4 year deal, surely 2 years with options was the way to go

It maybe peanuts as Lee and his agent wouldn't have had much bargaining power, SL clubs were hardly fighting over signing him, but 4 years is a gamble we didn't need to take, as I say go for 2 years with options, as if it turns out to be a bad signing then the peanuts have still to be paid for the full term

| Presently I see the squad like this:
1. Gaskell/Brierley
2. McGilvarry
3. Cudjoe
4. Wardle
5. Murphy
6. Brough
7. Brierley/Gaskell
8. Rapira
9. Hinchliffe
10. Huby
11. Symonds
12. Lawrence
13. Taai
14. Roberts
15. Mason
16. Smith
17. Leeming
18. Ikahihifo
19. Clough
20. Ormsby
21. Jacob Wardle
22. Dickinson
23. Sam Wood
24. Mikey Wood
25. Jared Simpson
26. Liam Johnson
27. Darnell Mcintosh
I then expect:
28. Matty English ...To be promoted
29. Izaac Farrell ...To be promoted
Dale Ferguson & 2 more signings 1 of MUST be a full back.
If 1 of Gaskell, Brierley or Brough gets injured we have no cover presently, Unless Murphy goes to FB then Ormsby on the wing. Would be nice to have direct position replacements rather than have to move a few positions about.

Not what Mr Thewlis has said. Quote - "At the time we secured his signing, Lee Gaskell was probably the most sought-after UK-based player in the game."
He doesn't actually say he was sought after by SL clubs and I can't see many people on here believing him anyway!
I can't say I've seen much of him so can't really comment.
