Sunday afternoon sees Saints travel to KR.

Do you want Saints to win to strengthen our hold on third but remove the chance of the hubcap or KR to win to keep us in the race for the top spot but allow them to catch up to 1 point behind us?

Difficult call but I think Saints to win as I cannot see us overtaking Saint AND Leeds and I would like the comfort blanket of 3 points before our game v Bradford.

Let Saints or Leeds have top spot. Winning the league doesn't get as much recognition as it should IMO. I'd rather HKR lose as we might drop a few league points in the next 2 weeks due to Wembley jitters.

3rd place is within your control, top 2 isn't.

Always aim for what you can control.

We just need Saints to beat Leeds then 2nd is in our control. Not too much to ask for is it? icon_lol.gif

Well there is a matter of points difference, icon_wink.gif

As I say, you're in third, you can control if you stay there or not.

Hope for top 2, aim for 3rd. That'd be my advice.

I would be happy with a Saints win and a win for us.

We are then sure for 4th minimum and 5 pts ahead of HKR with 3 to play. If we ensure we beat Celtics 3rd is then in the bag. [That said 3rd / 4th does not make too much difference as we do not know ,and cannot control, who is 1st / 2nd.]

With top 4 in the bag we could rest as many players as possible versus Saints ahead of the CCF AND rest players against Wigan ahead of the play offs. As the race for 1st / 2nd could go down to the last game saints & Leeds may not have the luxury of resting players (+ we play well away from home).

First things first......beat the Bulls.

I think Saints win and us to beat the bulls would make me happy.

Would love to beat the Bulls..hopefully the lads will be up for it as there is a final place up for grabs although I worry that last weekend will have taken a lot out of them.

As I understand it finishing 3rd doesn't guarantee a home draw in the play offs. If Giants finish 3rd and Leeds 2nd the 2 teams would play each other at Headingley the first weekend of the playoffs. If Giants win which is very possible given current form they would go straight through to the play of semi. Leeds would get a 2nd bite of the cherry and play the team winning the game between 6th and 7th. If Leeds win this game they would go through to the play off semi where they would play Giants again.(Depending on Saints not chosing Giants as their team to play in the final elimination game)As Leeds finished higher in the table they would get the home draw. So to get to Old Trafford Giants would have to beat Leeds away twice. Can anyone correct me on this if I'm wrong? Point is, aim to finish 2nd if you can, not 3rd.

In your scenario us beating you at your place would see you lose the right to home advantage if we played again.

I'm sure thats wrong as I'm sure I read that placing didn't count if 3rd and 4th beat 1st and 2nd but this suggests otherwise
