If Brierley is not back in at Full Back next Friday its disgusting as now is the time to get him as much time in the position ready for the middle 8s as thats what we know we will be in so winning many more league games now is not really a priority its the cup.

Murphy was back to his seasons starts form today - terrible, very inconsistent this year.

Totally agree one good tackle apart Grix was poor today his joining the line was bad and the ball stopped at him every time.



That try we conceded from the bomb on the left was shocking Murphy neither competed or tried to wrap the man up.



So errors from Grix, Murphy and McGillivary cost 18pts not good enough in a close game.



At 16-0 simple rugby 5 drives and a good kick wins set them 80 metres each time they make the mistakes we win simples !!

Tbf to Murphy he didn't need to make the tackle, the ball was knocked on and then the widnes player was in touch- most disgusting decision I've ever seen!

Difficult to tell on the video touch judge probably got it right as he kicked it twice once before he steps in touch but make a risky decision and you get bitten like Murphy did

Why doesn't Anderson trust Murphy to play anywhere other than wing.Would have backed Smurph to have downed the Widnes scrum half on that out to in.

It makes me laugh how after 1 win we have fans on here talking like we are the best team in the league and the same fans a week later saying we are the worst.

Yes it was poor but it is difficult to legislate for individual errors. Surprised to see Murphy mentioned as I thought he did little wrong yet no one mentions his centre partner who I thought was awful.

Grix was also nowehere near as bad as some would have you believe. Listening to some fans today then you would have thought every try conceeded was his fault.

Grix was the wrong pick every time he hit the line the move stopped. Brierley was the pick today his support play would have flourished on that pitch.



I cautioned getting too carried away our MO is to back up a good performance with a bad one and that's twice Widnes does have benefitted this season.

Pressures now off, we're nailed on for the middle 8s so with the remaining regular season fixtures being largely pointless perhaps use them as training runouts to practice more expansive and risky play. At least then we could hit the ground running come the 8s.

Has to be worth a try as the one up crap never has and never will work.
