| Firstly whatever the value of the LLS you are the most consistent team over 27 matches a real confidence booster.
The potential of two ties one against the lowest ranked team and win that and pick your opponents from the last four.
Potentially both matches can be at home.
The surge of winning the league may push our confidence up to a new level for the play offs the belief we can beat the too teams.
If it didn't matter why the gnashing of teeth on the Wigan boards, the boos at the HJ last night and Leeds speculating 2nd or top if we implode.
You can win the GF from 8th but you have the best run at it from top.
So to all those posts saying it is worthless I for one beg to differ !!!

| Three reasons
You are not trying hard enough.
Sponsorship and some success for long suffering fans would be high up there as well as some reward for Ken Davy's commitment to the club

| Pretty much the same advantages for finishing second under the current play-off system.

| Its a trophy for achieving something no other team has that season - never mind the Wigan, Leeds, Wire fans etc saying it doesn't matter and we're only up there cos they 'dont want it'....rubbish we have been the best team all year and in my view they say that as an excuse for their team not being as good as ours ...surely every fan wants to see their team win things, anything ?
I want my team to win trophies, If we win the shield i will remember it for years to come, would you swap that for a 3rd or 4th place finish just to be able to play such and such team in the end of season competition ?
It is a stepping stone to glory, win this and people will start thinking of us as serious challengers in the future now, i would love us to get to Old Trafford and win the Grand final but if we dont i will be more than happy with just winning the shield.....We've plenty of time to crack the big one.

That's like celebrating qualifying on pole, rightly, but crashing on the third lap and still being chuffed.
Wherever Fartown end up on the league ladder, it's a great opportunity to go and win the Championship. I wouldn't go so far as to say that not winning it this year would constitute a failure, but you'd have to ask when would there be a better chance.

John - In 2010 our final game of the season was at Warrington. They were presented with the LLS after the game. The home stands were packed for it and the fans were celebrating finishing in pole position therefore I fail to see your point.

I dont agree, winning the shield, to us, is special in its own right so i doubt you will find many fartowners too disappointed if we dont win the big prize. Its not like we're expecting to win the GF....We'll happily enjoy whatever comes along when it does.

| John you clearly don't understand about giants fans. There are only a handful of giants fans who have seen us lift a first grade trophy. So for those of us that have been around a long time but not quite 50 years ANyTHING is brilliant! Its not like starting on pole then crashing, its like you'd always started at the back and crashed anyway- but you finish in pole position for just one race even though you haven't won the drivers championship. A moment on the podium - we will take that!

| No, winning the LLS is like winning Le Mans
Winning the Grand Final is like winning a drag race.

Says more about Warrington fans than owt else, I guess.
So long as the players are treating it as a nice-to-have but recognise there's plenty of work still to be done, then it's no worries is it
