| Shame- you could see his heart wasn't in it the same recently- I thought perhaps Stone coming would revitalise him. Good luck Eorl.

| A great servant to the club.
Have not seen an article but whatever he does I hope he stays at the Giants either coaching or as an ambassador for the club. He should be going around schools every day talking about the Giants .
He more than anyone I would say has been the heart of the Giants over the last dozen years or so.
I genuinely wish him all the best.

| Will be a big loss to the Giants. I wouldn't say his heart wasn't in it at all. He's led our line for many a year and been targeted by the biggest forwards going and this has taken its toll on his body and he's realised that this is the time to stop as the more hammer his body takes could lead to serious consequences in later life.
From being an England regular, a pundit on BBC to many photoshoots and promotional SL appearances he's probably promoted the Giants and Huddersfield more than any player or coach could dream of.
Good luck to Big Eorl in the next chapter of his life and I just hope we keep him on in some capacity as his huge frame, bent nose and long golden locks are recognisable the world over in Rugby League. He'll be a big loss and someone that will be hard to replace.

Very well said.
This is a big loss to The Giants in a lot more ways than on the pitch. A great personality who I have massive admiration for - I hope he goes on to be just as successful in his none playing career. Maybe a marketeer by day and Stevo's replacement on a weekend?

| I'll add to this, he's a Claret and Gold legend, to me he has carried the whole team at times, and from his youth as a collosal centre to one of the best props in the game he has been "one of ours"
He'll be much missed on the field

Get him on sky alongside Eddie, would be a good replacement for Stevo and a recognisable figurehead for SL and Skysports broadcasting of Rugby League.

| Outstanding servant to the club, stuck with us through thick and thin and was an important part of the change in fortunes from wooden spoon to league leaders (and back this year). Great to see his loyalty rewarded with a backroom career and hope he can help to improve attendances. He's already done more to raise the profile of the club than anyone with a piece of university paperwork could.
I'll remember him best for his 2009 season which I believe was his peak, when he knocked the aussies over left right and centre. Thanks for the memories Eorl and all the best in the retirement.
Nice to see his stunt double Robbie Savage drop him a congratulatory tweet this morning too!!

| I've seen a lot of Eorl since he played junior RU at the YMCA.
Centre in the Championship, Prop in Superleague both for Fartown and England.
Great player and servant to our club and best of all he knew when to go.
We can remember him at his rampaging best walking back to the away end, having scored, to the strains of ' a fat Robbie Savage' and that little self conscious wave/applause to the fans have a great retirement Fella job well and truly done !!

| Fantastic player and a great servant to your club. I always admire players like Eorl that have given everything to the cause and never shy away and a true 1 club man. There is no wonder his body has told him its time good luck to him in retirement.

| mr huddersfield giants!
did alot for the club exposure wise, people knew him and though of the giants and they didnt even know much about rugby league
must have seen most of his 400 apps and will be strange not seeing his pont tail on the field again!
he was very loyal and could have moved on to other clubs/nrl
pleased he stays with us in marketing.
