| Wow, I honestly thought he would be a Hull player next season. Will be massive for Giants if they can keep him... Let's hope that article is true.

| I won't believe anything at all from either club or Jake himself until I see a contract with his signature on! Yesterday the Hull fanzine posted interviews with Jake saying how he was going to be focused on hull next year!
What a farce.

Yeah, I saw this too... Also, Jake announced on his twitter that he is joining Hull... So until it's confirmed, then you can't really believe anything... This issue is with who ever announced it first... Not sure if it was Hull FC or the Hull Daily Mail. But, until it's a done deal, then nothing should be announced from clubs.

Totally agree. You would think that the player himself ( who is the only one who truly knows where he wants to play ) would go on the Giants official site and tell the fans what he is going to do.

| As you say he should come out and tell us what he is doing. Is it a case of the highest bidder gets him ?

What you mean like he did before you announced you'd signed him?
Nah I'd rather he kept FC hanging. Make an announcement on 17th October

Getting paid as much as you can for doing the same job, hardly a crime?

I've honestly never understood why people get offended by players wanting higher salaries.... It's such a short career that could be ended in a split second. You need to make as much money as possible before you retire for yourself and your family.
This is rugby not football. When players retire they have to go into work, usually with little or no qualifications. So, what do they do? They have to become manual workers, after years of abuse to their bodies.
As long as they give everything they can on the field for the club their playing for, then they should be paid what they deserve.

Then we need to get rid of all the team, Their first loyalty is to themselves and their families . You are one of the rare breed who would turn down a higher paid job elsewhere, to show your loyalty. Yeah right.
If he does stay with us ( which would be nice ) He has showed where his position is, which as far as I know was where he started out playing, ( couldn't swear to it ) He won't always play that well, but he's shown what he's capable of. If we get a coach with a bit more idea than PA and Conner does end up our fullback, Does that make it a straight fight for the halfback spot between Brierley and Ellis, That would be interesting to say the least.
We have some big Ellis fans on here, But then we had some big Anderson fans as well. All will become clear in the fullness of time, until we know where Conner is going to be playing It's all speculation.

I believe his original position was half back, think he was switched to fullback in the U19s due to injury. Then selected for international duties where he played centre (so they could get him in the team?)
If he's gone/stayed for money then who can blame him. I'd be more bothered if there was another reason such as impatience or demanding a particular position.
The only issue I have with the situation was the timing of the announcement. If it was orchestrated by hull and he agreed to that it was poor form by him. If he didn't agree to it then Hull did the dirty on him too. I don't buy the media already had the story angle. Hull could have denied he'd signed- which wouldn't even be a lie!
Whatever happens either team will be better for having him in their squad. He clearly has a great deal of skill. If he can continue to work on his defence (and reduce the penalties) he will be a top class player.
