| After a poor but attritional first half where we hadn’t looked like scoring in fact hadn’t for almost two hours at home we were given an easy penalty in front of the posts.
‘Two’ was the cry but for some inexplicable reason no one took charge we ran it and ‘dropsy’ Russell shelled up the ball, one of six occasions that he did so in and around the Cas 20 metre line during the match.
Even more inexplicable was the fact that our best attacking half back was playing fullback, Gaskell the man who when playing stand off had scored a hat trick of try’s a few weeks before in a narrow away defeat at Cas.
Five times we let the ball bounce instead of trying to catch it in the first half and got really lucky, catching practice required for the next fortnight this wasn’t even amateur standard but a team on the wane stripped of any confidence or ideas.
If ever a half time talk needed to work and some changes be made this was the time.
Say Mellor to centre, Darnell to FB Senior to the wing but GASKELL to stand off.
The sight of Russell dropping the ball off to a slow moving forward or just generally dropping the ball was a contributing factor to the fact that had we played another 80 minutes we didn’t look like scoring at all.
Yesterday was symptomatic of the malaise that currently runs through the club, slow line speed, clueless on attack and constantly bullied in the important ‘must win’ areas of the field.
The management and Woolford have chosen to stick with a rapidly deteriorating team and system, to not bring anyone in and barring a miracle we are going down and that’s the most optimistic version.
Wire and Cas took salary cap exemptions, hence why Kevin Brown has gone to Leigh we have sat two players in the stand all season injured you couldn’t script it.
Darnell was left out for lack of confidence where’s he different from a dozen others?
Well Mr Woolford your time has come and you are failing miserably along with your clueless, spineless disorganised team and YES you are responsible as in all my years of watching I believe that this is the first time we have ever failed to score in the 160 minutes of two consecutive home games quite an achievement SIR !!!!!!

| Have to agree with most of the above. A bit harsh in respect of the high kicks as the wind was murderous yesterday.
The whole game plan seems to be however to not take risks and the only move seems to be the inside ball to a forward.
The speed of the play the ball is shockingly slow and the defence waits for the attackers to come to them rather than getting in their face,
The whole ethos seems to be try not to lose rather than try to win.
That's great if you have a lead (which Giants rarely do) and terminal if you go behind.
There seems to be no plan B
Mr Woolford has to take responsibility. He's just another Rick Stone. A risk is needed on a UK coach who wants to play Rugby.
Yes injuries have been a problem but they have been for all teams.

| probably tearing his hair out like the fans are at his teams lack of effort and going against coaches orders etc but hey the same players who got anderson and stone sacked with poor performances are still plodding along so lets sack another one and see if that makes them into world beaters this time

| He gets a hell of a lot of stick for problems that the clubs had for the past few years , I personally don’t think he’s that big of a problem he’s proved he can coach and the end of last year so the problem must lies else where imo maybe a bad egg in the squad but I could be wrong maybe he has no clue how to coach really or maybe the players don’t particularly like him could be many reasons

| A lot on here wont accept it but for a long time Thewlis has been the main problem at the club, even now once again the lack of leadership from the top is staggering, just a message of hope/ defiance/ anything would at least give the dwindling remaining fans something, its the least they deserve.
On the playing front, of the many disastrous decisions probably the worst was moving a good young winger to full back bringing Grix back to mentor him and then signing a very expensive winger to replace the young winger ! Grix is currently putting in error strewn performances in the championship but surely and i never thought i would say this bringing him back in at 1 and playing Gaskell at 6 would be the logical thing? Or has as been stated in other posts on here the towel gone in and this is Kens exit strategy ?

| Ask the fax fans who were at Swinton yesterday
However the Grix debate is long over but we are insuch a desperate state I would take him with Gaskell at 6
How we got to that point is mismanagement of the highest order

| Bit left field but we've tried a plethora of half back to partner gaskell, what about trying kruise, he can't do any worse(cas use mcshane) aob to do 80 mins, if we can't get grix back, then darnell back to full back, either Mellor or Roberts to partner jake. Jerry and one of the twins on the wing.

| Over the last few month Trinity have pretty much been mirroring you lot in terms of performances. We had all the same gripes as you. Yet on Sunday that all changed, permanently with any luck.
Chester didn’t alter his team selection and I doubt he altered his game plan, it’s not his style. Yet we looked a different team against HKR.
My point is that it’s not all down to your Coach, players need to motivate themselves to a large degree. Wolford is probably doing everything right, it’s your players mentality that’s probably wrong. For reasons unknown the balance is wrong, yes the coach has a part to play but so do the players, more so imho.
They need to realise they will be out of a job if they don’t rally soon. For obvious and selfish reasons I hope they don’t but I fear there is still time. What I do know is that it’s all down to the players now.
