| Just been glancing on another forum at a prediction thread for next season. Don't think there is one person that puts us to finish higher than 9th position, and a lot have us to finish bottom. I hope they are wrong about that, and they usually are but it's a forum where the posters are normally pretty unbiased in their views.
The least pleasing one was that R Stone has already got his excuses in by saying that we have signed no one of note yet, I personally don't believe we have finished with our signings yet, and if that's the case it shoots down that theory.
I feel we are almost bound to do better than last season, simply because , badly as we played we lost a lot of our games by very few points if i remember rightly, and in among-st we came up with some extremely good shows, There did seem to be a poor feeling around the players as well, ( I have no evidence of that though)
My own opinion is that with a new coach and conditioner, even if we don't sign any more players, we can still improve on last year, The three we have got from Bradford although not world beaters for me, are at least better than we have let go.
IMO With a couple more signings i think we can avoid the shambles of last season , and should we make the right start we could make the top 6, though SL is not getting any easier. For me so much is going to depend on Brough and Brierley and for them to do their stuff, at least as much is going to depend on the pack.
It's going to be an interesting season, Hope tricky Rick is the man. Iv'e had one or two chats with him and he is no boaster, Hopefully he is a man of action rather than words

| Couldnt care less where you finish but worth noting that Rick Stone is also the bookies favorite to be the first SL coach sacked next season.

| i never take notice of those threads as most people just base their predictions on the previous year's finishing place.

| In the last 7 years I don't think we've been predicted to finish higher than 6th so it shows how kak those threads are
The team we have is like 3 players different from the 2015 team that came 3rd
Last season was awful, for a dozen reasons all of which have been addressed
I'm saying top 6

| I think top 6 has to be the target come the split. Someone always over achieves and someone underachievers. I'm hoping we are the over achievers.
I think Hull, Wigan and Wire will be top 3. I think Cas will surprise a few and Saints are always thereabouts. The rest in my opinion is much of a muchness.

I had noticed that, But if you have followed Mr Davy's previous form you will have seen that he is not quick to fire anyone. I think we would have to be relegated for Rick Stone to be in any danger at all.

| dont worry about it, we always get overlooked by fans and pundits alike, not a fashionable club
was brilliant going back when we topped the league and looking on at predictions made that season!
top 8 for me will be a big improvement and step back in the right direction

| Pretty much
I'm confident the major issues of last season are addressed and we'll make top 6
Other clubs are suffering late off field issues, if Widnes lose Brown they could be in deep brown stuff, Leeds have recruited no one and might be losing segeyaro who apparently turned their season round, Leigh might be cock-a-hoop after their middle 8s but frankly we were bloody awful that game and still only just lost
We won't be back to top 4 by a long way but we won't be bottom 4 either imo

Your second sentence it's why Paul Anderson should be regarded as one of the best coaches Fartown have ever had.

sure anderson will go down in history for helping us top the lls
that year we had a great team ethic and worked hard for each other just killing teams with good defence, line speed and pinning teams in their half with broughs kicks
also though i think other teams were rebuilding and i think our chance of winning the grand final those couple of years were our best chance and now gone, real shame, maybe if we had brett hodgson we could have gone all the way.
rebuilding now and could take a while!

We aren't rebuilding in the same sense as saints rebuilt when martyn joynt and newlove weren't in the saints side, or as Leeds are with peacock and sinfield gone and burrow Maguire and JJB long in the tooth. our squad wasnt built properly to rebuild....

with the likes of long time servants crabtree, grix amongst others that have left at the end of this season and us finishing bottom and not with a new coach with new ideas id say we are rebuilding as a club and like said previous we have had our best chance to win the grand final in those recent years when we had a settled squad and a happy camp

| Oh good grief
New coach with new ideas, not just a rehash of a previous coach who also got sacked...
One of the brightest young Half backs in the comp signed to play alongside THE best half back in the comp
The best winger & centre in the comp
Seasoned players in the pack alongside young turks hungry for the game
A new fullback along the way who is genuinely exciting and maybe a new prop who is has a superb set of stats behind him and has the potential to be as good as any in the league
Have we lost some players? Sure
But let's be brutally honest, they weren't good enough to get us to old Trafford in the last 5 years, in fact how many playoff games did we win? How many cup games?
Maybe some of that old guard needed sweeping out
