Giants not for it, along with Hull, wakefield and castleford.
looks like it will pass though, so if we are not for it does that mean we wont bother to get a marquee player..or was it rapira  |

Only if we are currently paying him more than £175,000 a year. It's not a free player it means that you can apply a salary of £100,000 to a club trained or £175,000 to a non club trained player. We could count Eorl's new contract as £100,000, for example, if it exceeds that amount. The wording is a bit vague as it says clubs can sign a player from 2016 so i don't know if that means a new signing, a new contract to an existing player or if you can actually just nominate a marquee player.
Doesn't really matter it's a **** idea anyway. |

This marquee player issue is just the wealthier clubs getting around the salary cap - simple as that. Cannot see any positive in this and will be very interested to see who these marquee players actually are - suspect they will not be high enough profile to affect attendance or anything.
