| Thoughts?
Well it was never going to be easy and we made hard work of it but got there in the end. Broughy's kicking game was a lot better compared to recent games and thought Johnson had a good run. Good to see us giving youngsters a chance.
Had a run of tough games this month and got a few good results especially tonight! Like seeing robbo back at hooker cracking in attack! Still got bits to improve on but good result tonight lads!!

| A bit fortunate in some respects I think, we made some real dumb mistakes and made heavy weather of it, Tai in particular. Harsh call on the Broughton disallowed try, the defender ran into the player, would never have got near the player behind (only just) and from both sides point of view this obstruction is an absolute lottery, needs sorting out.
But once again, we ground out the win, I'd have been happy for 1 of the last 3 but 2 from 3 is great considering we are hot and cold still.

| Hard earned win. Try at end could have gone either way but Broughton disallowed try was harsh and did not see any proof Bailey had grounded the ball. Thought Brough,Robinson,Wood,Ferres,Crabtree,Patrick and Wardle all outstanding.

| The Broughton no try did come off the back of a scrum that should have gone to Leeds though IIRC, so.

| Wardle and ferres at the moment are so exiting to watch. Brough had a better game tonight. Hopefully Anderson won't be too harsh on Tai and he gets a run out next game, he's been playing well just made a few shockers tonight. Nice win to carry on our Headingley run and even though they were some 50/50 decisions (both ways) I still think we deserved to get 3 points.

3 points
Always thought it was 2, agree it was a tough game, lots of handling errors and some hot and cold plays from the boys.
Brough's 40/20 kicking and spot kicks were excellent plus the take near the end.
Taai almost cost us the game, certainly gave Leeds the momentum back. Definite push by Briscoe so right decision, still not convinced he got the ball down anyway.
I thought the Bailey try was dubious as Grix looked to have both arms under the ball, but maybe got it with benefit of the doubt.
2 wins from 3 really tough games against 3 top teams is a good return, but we need to improve in a number of areas.

Others/jack.jpg A well rested Giants side will rip it up in the playoffs. - Wigsey - 15/07/13:Others/jack.jpg |

Slight exaggeration there.
2 Threads entitled 'Robbed' both consist of 7 post each, contributed to by 10 different posters, 1 of which is clearly not a Leeds follower.
Hardly indicative of the 'Leeds Board'.

I know that but you could see Ganson clearly looked at Bentham when they were replaying the bit where it was doubtful whether Bailey got the ball grounded as Grix had both arms under the ball. He shrugged his shoulders and ha a face of I'm not sure.

Somewhere in the dust of time rest the bones of the Galilean
He who was spat upon. He whose face was marred beyond all human likeness
Somewhere buried among the lies of the past rests the tomb of Yeshua
Of he who was made God in a world without Hope.
And when this son of Joseph is found. What then will the Church of Rome say?
Prepare yourself for the day is coming. And men will say
"Blessed are the wasted lives who perished in the flames of the holy war": |

| The Bailey try shouldn't have stood because it was a double movement.
Ryan Bailey isn't a log, he hasn't got a spherical cross-section. Nor does Headingly have a significant slope. The human body doesn't roll unless a) it's going downhill or b ) some force is imparted on it. That was about as clear a case of "subsequent movement to promote the ball over the line" as you will see. It's strange that referees can be so pedantic about obstruction but yet can't understand simple rules of dynamics.

| I thought we battled hard.. and played a decent 80 minutes. Along with Leeds we was far from our best but we still got the points and any contrvarsal desision or technically correct but unfair call doesn't mean we didn't deserve it.
Danny Broughs kicking was pretty good all game. He made one attacking kick with about 2-3 minutes to go which made cringe.
Our Forwards competed well. Johnson should have yet again kept his starting spot for next week. He took some stick with some crunching 3 man tackling.
Wood is constantly improving and always looking to attack the line or open a gap.
Ta'ai made some silly errors but probably down to being abit too eager so it's hard to critisize. Anderson made the right choice to take him off.
Overall.. I'm a happy fan.

| Drop goals.
Why, when we were 12 points ahead and attacking their line, didn't Danny drop a goal like he did against Wigan? We would have got the ball back and started attacking.
Why, with 1 minute to go when we were attacking, didn't Danny drop a goal? We would have got the ball back for the last set.
Another question for the TV viewers. Why did the decision on that last play take so long when there was a clear obstruction on Danny? The TJ said so immediately? My only conclusion is that Mr S wanted to know if we had infringed earlier so that a penalty could be awarded.
Prior to the Saints match, I said that I would be happy with 4 points from the next 3 games - expecting 2 from that game! I'm happy!!
In theory, the only remaining challenges are Saints, Wire, & Cas. [I did say 'in theory'!]
