| right, was discussing at the game on sunday and with colleagues and a lot of people commented on how poor the atmosphere has become lately.the main gripes being the drum, constant banging of the same out of tune beat. i know the guy is only doing what the club asks of him but IMO it adds nothing to the atmosphere, and just drowns any chants/songs out.the other is the try music, again,i know some people go for stuff like this, but personally i like to have a good old sing when we've scored, you cant do that when the music is blaring out.
now i know a lot of us on here like to have a sing song and make a bit of noise, chant the players names etc but this season the atmosphere has been poor because of this.
just wondered what other people's views are? i just feel that the club are trying to copy others with the loud music and drum, but to me we should be able to create our own atmosphere.

| agree with your points meast, must say its been dead at home games for a while, dont really think the drum is the main problem though at least when its banged some people who dont chant at all do join in, i sit near the front in the britannia stand and we try to join in with the lads at the back when they get going, some people around us join in but most dont, why no idea as is my answer how to create more atmosphere at home games. But must say other than leeds and wire most clubs at home are more often than not out sung by the visiting fans.

| Funny this was brought up. I said coming out of the ground on Sun that for such an exciting game it was a really poor atmosphere. Lacklustre singing etc.
I wondered if was because there was no-one in the FM stand? They've added a bit of spice this season I think (Widnes, Wire).

| i just think the constant banging of the drum is awful to listen to, like i said nothing against graham he's a top bloke, but its the same dull song all the way through the game, very few people actually bother joining in with it anymore. the guys at the back of the kilner bank just get drowned out when it starts up, even people have given up joining in try celebrations now because of the awful music blasting out of the speakers.
as most people know i dont usually make many home games however this year i've managed all 3 and the atmosphere has been dead at all 3, widnes you could understand but its pretty poor when we cant even raise it for beating warrington and saints

| I know you guys at the back sit there because it echoes round and sounds loud up there- but the problem is -it echoes round up the back and the sound doesn't travel very well to the pitch!!! Perhaps if you sat further forward the sound wouldn't be lost up at the top?

| The drum is virtually the only time anyone sings in the direct golf stand.
If anything we need more drum to encourage people to sing.
My solution is get the singers together like we do at away matches until that happens forget atmosphere at the Galpharm.
People will not join in when the gap between singers is 10 to 20 seats. Those that do sing feel that they stand out and look like idiots.
Fortunately i sit near Tansey so i dont look like an idiot by myself. There are dozens more who would sing if they were closer togethre.
But i have flogged this horse to death and have given up completely

we'd get told to shut up if we do jools, like we did on sunday!
i just dont think the vast majority of people want people making noise and would certainly not stand for people singing and chanting lol

| spot on DG, i agree, tansey and that rabble in the riverside do a decent job considering
the biggest problem is we have 2 different groups in 2 different stands who usually congregate together at away games, and neither of that group will move.
although i have mentioned to tansey a couple of times about coming over to the BR but i know none of the regulars up there will move.
maybe mr RHP could be persuaded to encourage more vocal supporters to sit together?

i think its just that our fans are just not into singing/chanting getting excited, when compared to other clubs.

| Don't necessarily agree with that but do think the shouters get spread out a bit and diluted with the newbies and/or the quiet ones. You watch, for a cup game when there are just die hards it will be a cracking atmos.

| I love the music after a try or conversion.
As for singing sound just doesn't travel well in the stadium. It can sound really loud when you are in the BR but you can hardly hear the BR singing in the DG.

I sit 30 yds away and i cant hear em
Graham does an ok job, id keep him over the DG side, he aint needed at the BR side, i think your too far back personally, id have you bout halfway back, maybe then people in front and around would join in.
