Overall I think I prefer the RLE, although this week I picked up a copy of the League Weekly and we have a good write up from Karl Harrison, so possibly would have missed his review.

He says he thinks both teams (HKR and us) will eb there or therabouts come the end of the season, but we have the edge. He feels they have generally been performing close to their potential but we have some more in the tank. We have a slightly better team with more size and pace (not sure if he's seen D Hodgson lately!).

He says we are Giants in size not just name, and we use it together with our skill to dominate other teams. If we can get to grips with that inner belief we can beat the likes of Leeds and Saints.

He refers to other teams coaches complaining about our tactics, but goes on to say if you have good tackling technique you deserve to control the speed of the ruck, and that this is what the Giants have done all season, it's great coaching and application of this through the games.

Mind you I've probably missed out on the RLE write up.

yep was a right pain though ..i used to deliver them with my farther in law collect them on a sunday/ thursday night from menzies distribution wakey in a tranny van n take them all over lancs area . used to love getting to read the paper at 12 am

I get both delivered on a Monday and the express is much better. I read both on the bus to and from work more or less cover to cover, unless the giants lose and I am generally that disinterested the following week it takes me less than 10 mins to skim them both!

And now for something completely different.

I prefer the League Weekly. In particular I like the comments and reports from Danny Lockwood, I like Nosey Parker's column and I liek the fact that they give marks to the players so we can see who is performing well and who is not.

I also feel sorry for them in that all of the staff were gazzumped by the owner selling the paper (it was then called The Rugby Leaguer) to The League Express and leaving them without a job. They all stuck some brass in and restarted the paper as League Weekly about a month later. Well done lads.
