seems ken davy reads them! here it is below -
'rogers letter referring to me as 'stepping back from the giants' left me puzzled as nothing could be further from the truth.
i havent missed a match home or away this season and have increased my financial support for the club.
i see or speak to richard thewlis almost daily and in the past two weeks i have addressed our players, lunched with rick stone and staff, plus attended board meetings and super league meeting.. hardly stepping back!
nonetheless i share his and other supporters frustration and disappointment at some of our results.
we have a strong and talented squad who are capable of achieving much more than our current position indicates, certainly top eight and likely top four.
silly mistakes and penalties have cost us dearly but we still have everything to play for and i would urge everyone to come down and support the giants.
equally, i would urge any supporter who has concerns to please contact either myself or richard directly at the club. we are always delighted to hear from you and will respond.
lastly , as regards rogers 'chicken and the egg' query.
in 2013, 14 and 15 the giants had their best three consecutive seasons for 100 years and it was bitterly disappointing that our support didnt increase as we hoped.
as we not endure a rough patch i urge you to come on down to watch the giants for nothing beats being at a live match.
ken davy
so there we go, ken davy has increased his financial support for the club.
he believes we are top 8 likely top 4 team.

We are far more likely to be bottom 4 than top 8 IMO, but that is no reflection on K Davy or his committment to the club. If some of the people under him could get their act together we might have a chance to get into the top 8. By far the biggest mystery to me is why he hasn't walked long before now, not one single person could blame him.

Huddersfield Giants - "We know our place": |
|
| I'm unconvinced.
If Davy is still so highly involved, how does he tolerate the performance of the club over the past 18-24 months? Why hasn't he done something about it? And over a longer period, why has he tolerated the stagnation of advertising and marketing efforts over the past five or so years? Why is he happy with the crowds slowly falling? Why has he allowed the lack of progress towards decent training facilities to continue? Why has he tolerated repeated HR disasters that have cost large sums of money and sent homegrown players off to other clubs?
It doesn't add up. The club is stagnating on all fronts. If he's still so interested, why does he put up with it?
Personally I had assumed that Davy had basically lost interest and was only keeping a bare bones involvement because of the new HD1 development.

| No one certainly not me a fan of 40 years would question Ken or his commitment to the Giants, and thank him sincerely for the times we have enjoyed.
But and it's a big but , if he thinks the Giants are run well by the current MD and that the club is going forward he is living in cuckoo land, I and many others could list plenty of evidence on here.
The last time Dean Hoyle changed manager he also changed chief exec for a very good reason all things under him were not going in the right direction. A similar change needed to be made last year at the Giants , yes before people come on here to tell me football is a different animal, but the Giants need a change of direction off the field and without it failure will continue to happen.
Thanks Ken for everything but going forward you need to get real and make the changes

How do you know he hasn't done something about it? I'd say the marketing has gone up somewhat, a lot more being done out in the community too. He's tried everything in the past and even plenty of wins and the LLS didn't get people coming. Instead he's turned his attentions elsewhere-One thing that has increased- that most won't even know about- is the executive sponsorship that has gone up.
Regarding the training facilities- from what I understand there are drainage issues with the land he bought, to sort those it requires doing something with buildings and issues with asbestos has drawn that to a halt. Repeated HR disasters? We can't force players to stay- neither should we. That HD1 development would bring revenue to our club.
He's stayed regardless when many others would have walked away. Perhaps the thing that will force that is when people start to question his motives.....

That is a very good post because it states everyone's opinion of KD's committment to the Giants financially, It also underlines that there may be some truth in Steve May's post, I'm not saying there is but you have to think that a man as shrewd as Mr Davy has proved himself to be, is not aware that the club is going down the tubes faster than a Rat up a drainpipe.
I have said on here before ,The whole atmosphere eminating from the club is one of failure, It has ever been a club ready to celebrate mediochrity , we are now at the point of fans making positives out of losses 'because they are not heavy losses, My point being that all of us know ( at least the one's on this planet ) What state the club has sunk to, so nobody is going to tell me that KD doesn't know it as well.
There is more than likely stuff going on that we don't know about i'm sure but what we do know is things don't get better year on year, so you have to start and wonder if things are in fact acceptable and Rugby is of secondary importance, Again I'm not saying it is but everything about the club gives that impression.
I almost think we would be better getting relegated ( which we may well do ) I think i would put money on Mr Davy sticking with the club, Or if the Giants went out of existence , would their share of the stadium revert back to the council ? ( i think not ) These are questions we are never likely to know the answer to ( do we even have a right to know ) again i think not.
But anyone who thinks you will get any meaningfull answers by sending E. mails, i fear will be disapointed. you will get back the normal stuff about how much has been plowed in and so on, You won't get anything about how much has been sqaundered, or what big mistakes have been made, and most of all you wont get any explanation as to why the club appears to be run in such a shambolic way.

| I`m not that keen on Thewlis, but he has overseen our successful years, so he is capable of doing the job, and no reason why he can`t oversee success again. Ken is no mug so if he is satisfied with him that will do for me.
Also too much defeatist talk on this forum.
