And poor Paul Reilly broke his leg just before this match.
For those who didn't see Hefin and what we 'liked' about him, remember Brett Hodgson's long passes in defence? Hefin was a mater [almost!!!] of that! He could - and did - pass the ball from the touchline to the FB - who occasionally caught them - who was stood under the posts!
What's happened to Stanley's try on YouTube? It's gone.

| Hefin went to Glasgow Blues RU - don't know what happened to him after that.
Junior's still got it - scored 3 tries for our team at the Touch Rugby at Fartown tonight 
If anyone is short of something to do tomorrow (Saturday 11th) we have a Fun Day at Fartown with U8s, U10s, Girls and Open Age v U17s friendlies, Tug of War, Bouncy Castles, Pole Joust, BBQ, Welly Wanging etc. Starts at 10.00am with the Open Age match at 2.00pm. Everyone welcome. |

He was a wick little beggar (in the best sense of the word) was Hefin.Always remember when he ran in from his wing to take a quick 20m tap and went the length without a finger being laid on him vs Widnes in SL.What I repected about him most though he was always the first into the Rope Walk straight after the game,and if he had been subbed sometimes he was in there before the fans came out of the stadium.Legend.
First thing I thought seeing that team was where's Reillz? but he did break a bone, it was against Dewsbury Rams at the McAlpine.
Agree about Super Stan,for a smallish bloke he was totally fearless carrying the ball.That game against Leeds (Costins game) when super Stan went in for 2 tries will always be one of my best memories.
Leythers took the lead in that Widnes final I'm fairly sure,but we came away victorious in the end,and what an incredible SL journey it has been for us since that day.
