As someone who follows both huddersfield codes it has not escaped my attention that the stadium share issue has raised its ugly head again with no deal yet concluded it seems to me from the outside that there maybe some danger to the giants position as stadium partner if a successful deal is not concluded. anyone got any thoughts, views information?

Its a bit naive to think that it wont affect the giants if ksdl fails or the major shareholding becomes dominated by the football. KSDL depends on the football revenue because giants dont generate enough crowds or revenue from 13 games to make the stadium profitable. If the balance of power shifts the consequences for the giants wil be serious which is why i raised it as an important topic. Giants fans should at least be aware and not think everything will just be alright because ken davey has sorted everything for the last 15 yrs, time may be running out

It is an important topic.Where have you heard that KSDL are going to fail.

Sorry to contradict you but it's my understanding that ksdl do not rely on association football revenue or RL revenue,as both clubs just pay a fixed rental agreement to use the stadium, regardless of crowd numbers attending or any profit made by either code.

The 40% share in ksdl was never removed from the bankrupt association football club, they were just transferred into a holding company by the new clubs owner Ken Davy,a business decision he was perfectly entitled to make. After all if you buy a bankrupt sports club and have to pay off it's debts, like for example Sir Ken did out of his own pocket for unpaid wages to the soccer players of £1.4 million then you also take on any assets like the soccer shares in KSDL,which were valued at the time at just £2 by the administrator against possible default of the £7 million borrowed by ksdl to build the north stand. This was of course in the days before Ken Davy had anything to do with the running of ksdl.KSDL were taken over by Sir Ken at the same time he took over at Town, both failed companies then.

Not sure why you believe time is somehow running out for the Giants.
If D.Hoyle has the shares in his name as Town owner, then they are still worthless until KSDL start making profit.Until someone makes KSDL profitable the bloody shares of both codes in that company are worthless.Maybe Hoyle will take over as head man/decision maker of ksdl from KD and then they will start making millions.
If Hoyle takes over from KD as chairman of ksdl & is brilliant at making big money for KSDL,fine by me as the Giants are entitled to 20% return (after any debt is paid off)

Well lets get real it isn't as if Town are going to be in the Premier league next year or any time soon. They are a third division regular side where there is one outstanding team Charlton and four more Sheff Utd, Sheff Weds, MKD and Town who will fill places 2,3,4 and 5 and on current form with what their own message board posters admit is a defence that lacks pace and a manager that lacks creative vision in his team selection Town will most likely be in the play offs something as yet they haven't shown an ability to get through recently.

Mindst if Dean Hoyle wants to payout £15/£25 million to buy out the Giants, I would point out that the Town posters talk about Dean Hoyle getting his shares back not HTAFC which would worry the '' out of me, there is a lovely old traditional patch of grass down Spaines Road way that would look good with four new stands around it !!

Getting back to reality the football in recent years where the linesmen run and goalmouths has caused far more damage than anything the RL has done to the Galpharm pitch and anyone who watched Wigan v Liverpool the other night would have seen where all the damage was coming from at the DW.... the football as clumps of grass were been hacked out all over the field and it looked like a farmers field at the end... as the classier footballers of Liverpool pointed out as the reason for them not beating Wigan. !!

In summary both Huddersfield sports teams need to play in the Galpharm to make it work and there has also been a lack of concerts or anything else in recent years that would add the additional revenue stream for any one of the three partners to force a team out although Spaines Road way would be my dream !! but alas dream it wil bel forever remain !!

To the Halifax fan

I do support the teams from the town of my birth, i was fortunate to be born in a town with real sporting tradition, two clubs with famous histories and 2 wealthy ambitious chairman who both back our clubs to try and achieve success. My postcode just happens to be in a place that has 2 teams playing in pub leagues sharing an unfinished council house with no real history or tradition.

Please stay out of our debate and help your club back to superleague so we can have a good friday local derby again.

The concerts had stopped way before Sir Ken had to bail out the useless KSDL,as well as the wendyball.

No one can force us (HGRLFC) out of that stadium. We are on a 140+ year lease that was agreed a few years back.

Sir Ken obviously operates by the old business maxim of 'never give a sucker an even break' icon_lol.gif

D.Hoyle has gone down in my estimation after today.I had him on a par with Sir Ken as a champ who put his money where his mouth is for the good of sport in this town, but today he has let himself down badly with this petulant stuff over the rent.Sir Ken made the Giants pay for rent on 15 fixtures though we only play 13 in that stadium and it was just to help out the soccer in their hour of need after former soccer owners had sent them to the brink of bankruptcy, and this is the thanks Sir Ken now gets.

I was ready to give the soccer the benefit of their side of the story, but after today I am even more on the side of Sir Ken than I ever was.150% behind Sir Ken.

Sir Ken's an easy target,a scapegoat.

Here are some names for the soccer lot to mull over about who really are to blame for their problems - Heady,Fisher (Helped set up the original rental agreement),Rubery (HTFC bankruptcy),Collinge (KSDL- well before Sir Ken had owt to do with KSDL - KSDL with Collinge at the head never made any profit, which is why Town had to go bust because Rubery was obviously clueless about the bigger picture of the finances 'tween HTFC & KSDL.

Sir Ken meanwhile had the foresight to put the Giants shares in KSDL into a holding company so we were sitting pretty knowing we weren't liable for the fact Collinge & co were useless, but Rubery wasn't as clued up about the relationship between Town soccer & KSDL,so he dragged down Town to almost extinction.

But the soccer clowns aren't interested in the facts, just blame Sir Ken for all their problems of their own making.
