Well that's him going backwards then! In all seriousness, its a real shame we can't keep hold of him as he is a good player who is getting better and better at Fartown. Hopefully the money saved on any improved contract we did offer him will be used to put towards either a monster prop or a 13 in the Hinchy mould.

- leeds is a poopstorm at the moment behind the scenes so the money must have been the draw.
The way I see it, he’s been a decent signing and we’ve had good service from him, seems to have put himself in the shop window more this season but personally I would much rather use the money to keep wardle as he’s a potential match winner. If we lose both I’ll be disappointed.
Be interesting to see how he performs going forward could tell us something of his character is he a seb/Roberts character who plays up for the deal, or a hodgson/hinchcliffe true professional.

not too happy having a player play for us knowing he is playing for someone else next season, stopping someone else from progressing, a waste of time for me and shows no loyalty to the club..as a fan you want loyalty

for me bring ferguson back and ship mellor out on loan instead!

It’s the system GiantsRL, fundamentally flawed as it creates these situations, not sure how you could make it work any other way, crazy, but same for all I suppose.

Good player , was never going to a superstar and not really sure he’d have been a starter when everyone’s fit , I’d personally say I don’t want to see him in the team for the rest of the season but with injury’s it may be hard and he’s a good lad so you know he’ll put his all in anyway

Real shame, not the biggest (for second row) but a natural try-scorer who knew just where to be and how to get over the line, will be a big loss.

Butler could well turn out to be the ideal replacement. From my observations he looks abit physically bigger than Mellor. He's a year younger so gives him a year in full time to try get upto Mellors standard. As I've also said previously, as he came to the sport late, he could improve loads in the full time environment.

I watched fax's game against Bradford and was totally underwhelmed by Butler, he had zero impact on that game and never looked dangerous at all. Mellor has an amazing tryscoring record for us and will be a BIG loss, let's try not to make a player seem bad because he's leaving eh? If this was a Mellor signed up for three years thread people would be saying very different things. Other teams fans will respect you a lot more if you are honest with your assessments
