when the games are shown on tv looks nothing like 8200, think thats on tickets sold and not on actual numbers turning up on the day'"
I understand that...but the figure is correct as pointed out on another thread by Pandamonium...I will explain a couple of things about Toronto and crowd size you have to understand, I've said them before and and was banned from the Terrace for trying to derail the thread; how is telling the truth derailing a thread?;bizarre, for some reason, unknown to me, some simply refuse to believe them. Out or courtesy I will repeat:
1. The cameras mainly show East Stand which is never as full as West Stand (season ticket holders here)
2. In Britain I guess people show up before the game actually starts and get their place. Understand that this never happens in Toronto for any sport EVER! Even playoffs in hockey and baseball.
People drift in and you really can't get an accurate figure until 20-30 minutes into the game...it is the sporting culture over here...aleways has been like that.
3. A large number of people never take a seat but wander around the area...its a social thing. This is aleways a very large number, not just a few.
4. I have been to every home game for 2 years and the attendance figures are always accurate, thats the truth of it.
5. The stadium is leased from the City of Toronto and they are in charge of the gate number. All tickets are electronically scanned by the City employee, not the Club, and they then supply the number of tickets through the gate. This number is beyond reproach since it is subject to forensic accounting for the City of Toronto...it is a municipal controlled structure....the Club is not involved in any way....there would be severe legal ramifications and the lease would be cancelled for the grounds PERIOD (.)
Those are the facts.
