I would think Murphy has been consistently average over the last few seasons. It's just everyone else's levels have dropped below Murphy's to make him look a lot better than most.
He's been the worst, just not flashy. He knows his way to the try line and misses less tackles than all of our outside backs.
Super captain cudjoe for example hardly throws his body in front of a player in defence. If he's in position he try's to grab players a lot of the time. That's just one comparison.
What else does anyone expect off him. Acrobatic dives in the corner...? Full length of the field breaks?
Can't think of anyone in our team who gets the opportunity to do that.
