What a pathetic obituary there is for Tommy Smales on the official Giants website. He must be one of our great players of the post second world war era and they cannot even mention that he was the captain of the team the last time that we won the championship in 1962. Very poor in my opinion of the Giants.

A very underrated player and very unlucky to be at his best at the same time as Murphy, ( who tended to put every half back in the shade) Still forced his way into the England team, and well deserved to be there.
