'Crap' is very generous
As is 'average'!
We are playing with a squad of 17 players, only 10 of them are average or above, the rest being championship grade. But the same could be said of several other teams, Wakefield being the best example. But they are coached well. We are not. We can't hide from that, they are not improving or learning from mistakes and the man in charge has to take responsibility for that.
He likes the word responsibility judging from his press conference tonight, so perhaps he now needs to go and have a think about his.

| Anyone find the ref to absolutely clueless in all aspects of the game? His indecision was clear to see in just about every decision made, let them get away with all aspects of gamesmanship and holding down to slow us down and never gave a pen and I am still wondering whether he got a rule call wrong.
Mid second half I think we kicked in last tackle toward their goal line. One of their lads jumped and caught it and ref gave a 20 yard re-start. However, the defender definitely jumped from field of play into the in goal area to catch it. Isn't that play on? We were about to tackle him I goal for a GLD but instead they broke straight down our end full length of field (and I think they scored but not 100% sure)
Anyone else recall this and know whether I'm right in my view on the refs decision?

| Why does Rick Stone hate Ryan Brierley ? The only 2 games you have won, he's started in each game. Maybe when the 'silver fox' gets sacked, he might get a game or 3.

And in all the other games he's started- we haven't won..... (which by the way, is more than two) go figure!!!!
I would imagine it's because in pretty much every game he's played he's been anonymous.....

I would say that's down to the way we play. He doesn't fit in to our style. Which is a shame, because his potential is brilliant. Another club will snap him up and he'll be on the back end a lot of expansive attacking play.

| foe me Anderson had it spot on- I agree with stone he's not a good enough half for SL- but the skills he does have would make him a good SL fullback.

| Thought the first half was the best I've seen them play this time.Strong first contact, and some strong carries.Second half failed to capitalise.
Broughy needs to have a word with himself, not the referee.
Great to have Symonds back.Class player.Read on here about the knee crocked again but RS didn't mention that after the game, just said being cautious with him after the long lay off.
Mamo is one freak athlete, the way he gets around the pitch.Batted that bomb back, then galloped over to the other edge to get involved in the move that led to the try.
Looks a good organiser and vocal too.Impressive for a 22 year old.
Thought overall the team looked more comfortable on the back of the positional changes from RS.Some decent performances all over the pitch including from the interchange, mainly of course during the first 40.
Tackle bust from Roberts should have been try time. Some eye catching clean breaks and busts from likes of Gaskell & Sebastine. Couldn't quite turn those into points.
Broughy sin bin I said at the time could cost us the game, and so it did, they nearly survived just 2 minutes or so left of the binning.
Decent first 40,just need the same sort of effort during the second stanza, and we could hopefully start getting some wins.My glass half full and all that.

A good assessment sheepridge.Broughies frustrations are becoming a pain in the butt and perhaps it may be the time to play him off the bench he seems to have lost that snap he once had at almost 35 he maybe could benefit playing less minutes.

Spot on there mate. I remember it well, I was having a rant over it at the time. Ref absolutely clueless. I don`t like blaming the ref but I think he definitly cost us that game with the field positions he was gifting to the Catalans. Also the touchy, what a clown, we were directly in line with a Catalans penalty for touch and a perfect view of it`s trajectory over the touchline, but the touchy put his flag up a good 3 metres nearer our line.

Not sure what it has got to do with Wakefield but it does help when a coach has better players to coach.
Can't see your comparison really the league tells you who are championship grade and unfortunately for your club once again as of last year it looks like your club are heading for the middle eights, as against the Trin who look to be heading once again for the top eight, not wanting to criticise your coach but might I remind you about Huby, Wood and hitherto our player of the season Scott Grix, anyway from a grateful Wakey fan thank you if not though for the back handed compliment.

| Quote jools="jools"Will Danny brough play another game without a yellow card,
Will mellor ever bend his back to make a tackle,
Will Gaskell ever catch a ball without spilling it whilst running at the line,
Will mamo and mackintosh ever communicate again
Will an offload ever go into the hands of the person it's meant for instead of the opposition,
For the answer to those questions tune in to another less than thrilling episode of "how to lose a game"
Starring the Huddersfield Giants'"
Where's all that pre season confidence gone jools????............thought this was a better squad than the one that won the league leaders shield???........
