Quote: meast "What he is actually quoted as saying is, that Huby was seemingly happy at the club and very much part of the plans until a few days ago, regardless of what the media/social media say, if the player says he's happy then the club have to take that as gospel.
So Huby then asks to leave, so what do we do? agree to release him, presumably for a fee? or make an unhappy player stay?
Can't see anything wrong with what the club or Thewlis has done or said, to me, it's just another "bash the club" thread!
Good luck to Chubs, it never really worked out for him here for various reasons.'"
What I would expect him to say is "Thank you for your honesty Craig. We will of course accede to your request and make you available. However I think you have to understand that from our point of view you are an experienced prop forward. Having already lost Eorl Crabtree it would be foolish of us to release you without an adequate replacement. Therefore, although we won't stand in your way, we would expect you to be professional enough to continue your commitments to this club as per the four year contract you signed just two years ago. Until such a time as we can put something in place regarding a replacement."
I wouldn't expect him to offload him with indecent haste and then release a statement that says that I have no idea what is going on at my club re personnell relationships and that i've yet again released a player in the full and frank knowledge that we haven't a replacement which just reinforces the aura of incompetency that surrounds me.
But maybe that's just me.
