If he does stay with us ( which would be nice ) He has showed where his position is, which as far as I know was where he started out playing, ( couldn't swear to it ) He won't always play that well, but he's shown what he's capable of. If we get a coach with a bit more idea than PA and Conner does end up our fullback, Does that make it a straight fight for the halfback spot between Brierley and Ellis, That would be interesting to say the least.
We have some big Ellis fans on here, But then we had some big Anderson fans as well. All will become clear in the fullness of time, until we know where Conner is going to be playing It's all speculation.'"
I believe his original position was half back, think he was switched to fullback in the U19s due to injury. Then selected for international duties where he played centre (so they could get him in the team?)
If he's gone/stayed for money then who can blame him. I'd be more bothered if there was another reason such as impatience or demanding a particular position.
The only issue I have with the situation was the timing of the announcement. If it was orchestrated by hull and he agreed to that it was poor form by him. If he didn't agree to it then Hull did the dirty on him too. I don't buy the media already had the story angle. Hull could have denied he'd signed- which wouldn't even be a lie!
Whatever happens either team will be better for having him in their squad. He clearly has a great deal of skill. If he can continue to work on his defence (and reduce the penalties) he will be a top class player.
