Quote vastman="vastman"Totally disagree with you and I 'm not alone. Grix is a good player but not great because he does have brain farts. But as a utility back/HB he's great value - I'd have him back in a heart beat.'"
Well he's up for grabs as far as I know, although I have heard Fax mentioned. He is no worse than a few of our other players, but how much you have seen of him to rate him so highly I don't know. His good sides are his backing up, and he is as good under the high ball as anyone else in our side, also he is reputedly the brains behind the marshalling of our defence.
His ball returning is arguably the worst you are ever likely to see, and although he does from time to time pull off very good 1 on 1 tackles, more often than not he is left face down on the ground demonstrating his frustration as the try is being scored.
When he joins the line The move usually ends in disappointment, when he was tried at half a few years ago, he was the most tackled with the ball halfback you are ever likely to see, which I assume is why he didn't last there.
With a good coach I can see him having another couple of years in him as a squad player in an average side, When he is the first name down on the team sheet every week you tend to view things differently.
He does get more than his share of blame for things going wrong, but the bottom line is, he is not good enough, We have others in that category as well that I would be happy to see depart with him, Preferably to Wakey, we need to restore the natural order of things,
Well done by the way, It would be nice to see Trin win the C Cup again.
