I have a lot f respect for this man. He is a very good player who would get in a lot of other super league teams.
When he has not been picked he has remained professional and supported the team and players picked a head of him.
When he's played he's done ok but for me he is the one I would prefer to lose out of the three wingers we have.
For me he is too good to keep as a back up player and deserves regular game time some where else.
I would imagine he is on a decent wage so will free up some brass to bring through some youngsters or bring another player in.
Also has Jodie jacked in whatever work he was doing on the side? Can't remember what it was but it was one of the reasons he wanted to come back over the Pennines from Salford.

He was working as a Quantity surveyor. - chatted to him for a while at one of the open things when he first signed as my other half is in a similar line of work and knows the firm- he told me us was the reason he took the offer from hudds as Salford were less understanding about him having the other job whereas hudds were more accommodating. Perhaps he's served his time and is now chartered and so can concentrate on his rugby.

expected big things of him when we signed him but through no fault of his own its just not worked out for him so no surprise to see him leave

will give us some space in the salary cap too to maybe keep some one else or bring some one in.

Well there is a half available soon isn't there. As for broughton woefully under used, real shame and I can't for the life of me understand why we signed him in the first place. I know murph and jerry have been good but when he did play we barely used his speed. One occasion i can think of in 30 odd games. I am seriously at a loss on that one. But that's the way it is. We must have another signing in us, would like someone who can play wing/centre for competition.

Nothing to stop the Club giving Jerry a new deal.
Other Clubs do it so why cant Giants. It would show intent for the future he has Proved himself. Expect more players leaving as we try and balance the books. Broughton was an expensive signing who was hardly used. Who is responsible for the recruitment Anderson or Thewlis ? Some of the signing have not been value for money and been discarded before contracts had expired. Do your homework on new Players.

as others have said, never really got a chance, but then i don't think anyone thought murphy would kick on like he had, saying that though he's never let us down when called upon and has scored tries for us and has been a true professional when he hasn't played.
i imagine that we didn't get to see the best of him really.

at the time we signed broughton i dont think the club knew murphy would turn out to be a good winger and maybe had him lined up to play full back instead of grix at full back but grix kept that place after murphy had a few games at fb

A deal is a two way thing, maybe the club and Jerry have not yet come to an agreement yet.Have patience.
As far as I know no one man at any club has the responsibility of buying a player.If I remember correctly{I was told this a few years ago} if the coach becomes aware of the availability of a player he brings it to the notice of the committee using the chain of command,the committee then decide whether or not they wish to engage the player,subject to all the usual channels.
