| Quote meast="meast"i haven't seen anyone saying the performance was acceptable, it wasn't, by our own high standards we set last year it was a very poor performance.
but like i said, you have to give credit to the opposition too, catalans were good tonight, far too good for us, i just think people are being a bit dramatic over it all, it was a poor performance and i feel for the fans that are over there, but im pretty sure it wont spoil their weekend.
we just have to accept that sometimes we play badly and the other team plays well, no pointing fingers and finding scapegoats, it just happens.
we could beat warrington next week and everything is ok again, nothing is won or lost in march!'"
We won the league by one point after having wins in march last year so something is won in March and April May etc. unless we now want to start believing every other clubs hype that the league means nothing. lets not bother watching and caring till Sept then.

i think you got me wrong, i dont mean the results don't matter, leave that for fans of the top teams!
i meant we have lost 2 games we aren't exactly getting stranded at the bottom, i meant the season isn't over for us, tonights result will mean zip if we win our next 5

...............and IF we don`t pal??? Not playing like that
And if we do --then theres no excuse for tonight
Looked like jet lag to me!
Id have rather gone into a cup tie with Saints on the back of three straight wins not a roller coaster ride!

| Not been able to see the game but sounds like we had a shocker.
no surprise losing to catalans over in France, only surprise was the bookies offered 6/1 for them to win! had abit of that.
expect to see a much improved Giants next week, we normally see a response after a defeat...we all thought the world had ended when we lost to hull kr and widnes then all was great again v leeds.
we are just pacing ourselves like all the top teams do now

| Agree fully with JohnnyMaverick and Crackerjack, whats the point in saying if we beat Warrington it will be forgotton? playing like that we wont beat anyone as poor as Warrington are at the moment. We must be the most inconsistent team in RL and will never be a top club winning the so called big prizes till we play to the top of our game week in week out. Both Wire and Wigan have lost loads of top players and as expected are nowhere near the teams they were, we however kept all our squad bar Fergie and this season was an opportunity to kick on and become top dog. That opportunity I fear is being lost. Losting to a Catalans side on yhe back of 0/5 with still half their team missing is very very worrying IMO. Something doesnt look right, all the players are looking at each other when a try is scored and whinging at the ref, not good signs

| as i said sometimes the opposition is better than us and beats us, that happened last night, yes we were poor and lost to a team that had lost it's previous 5 games.
why do we always need to find a blame source and saying things aren't right etc, we don't have a divine right to win games,we have to earn it, we didn't do that last night, credit to the opposition they did.
let's just hope we turn up next week and earn the 2 points.
let's be realistic, we aren't a bad team, other teams are going to raise their game against us, and we took a lot of teams by surprise last year, that element of surprise is gone this year.
i'm fairly sure this one bad defeat won't make or break our season.

| First up let me congratulate Catalans. They showed skill, enthusiasm and commitment in bucket loads tonight. All this talk of 5 losses didn't fool me - 4 of them were away for a start and we all know how strong they are at home.
Paul Anderson's comments on BBC Sport website sum it up perfectly.
We were out enthused.
We lost the collision and consequently gave away penalties by trying to slow the play down by laying on and by having our hand on the ball in the tackle. Some of our defense out wide was abysmal.
After 65 mins I was preparing a John Kearesque quote of 'We were lucky to get nil (nul?) points' (I've just had a Eurovision flashback there).
We missed both Micheal Lawrence for his superb defense and more importantly Shaun Lunt for his control around the ruck.
We showed what we can do going forward in the last ten when we have our minds on the job as Paul Anderson said.
Consistency is our problem at the moment - the only point Leeds have lost and Hull KR have gained this season is against us.
Interesting game next week with Wire - 2 sides struggling for consistency.
Lastly Danny Brough has not hit his straps this season but his forwards haven't given him the time and space unlike Luke Walsh whose forwards have done the business for him. He's frustrated and a frustrated Danny Brough is not a pretty sight as we all saw yesterday. He should have been binned by Richard Silverwood.

Teams raise their game against Leeds week in and week out but they raise their game higher to grind out the wins, people class them as a top team. On paper I would take our squad over theirs any day of the week but RL aint played on paper, long way to go but dont want a season of garbage till last 4 weeks then win the GF cos I pay to watch my team try to win everyweek and finish top of the pile.

| All week in the Examiner there were articles about how tough it was going to be etc. They ended up believing it! They went there waiting to lose.
Yes, the video ref decision was a joke and yes, the French lad threw himself on the floor to get the penalty like he was a footballer. But we apparently knew we would get no favours from the officials so why did Brough spend all night crying at them?
We lack mongrel, as has been said, and we lack a leader of men when things are going against us. I've said the leader of men babble countless times now but we do. They are so few and far between though.
Very disappointing to watch that. Yes Catalan played well but we still beat ourselves. Eorl seems like he's lost a quid; he's looking so keen to get to ground. He seems to have forgotten he's meant to make some metres first.
