Quote: Durham Giant "He broke Ben Gronow's record of 147 goals, set in the 1919-1920 season, and overtook the 332 points scored by Pat Devery in 1952-1953.
For Brough to break these records is amazing.
Gronow and Devery were two of the most important and special players to play for Huddersfield. Hall of famers and Brough broke two records in one season.
Well done Danny a tremendous record.'"
Indeed --the lad done well--very well !!
Records are made to be broken -and he has and in style --
Similarly those who were lucky enough to see Pat play mayl have also noted that its been possible on a technicality as tries were only worth 3 points at the time and Danny`s 140 goals 2 DG and 8 tries gave him his 334 points
On the similar criteria Pats 142 goals and 16 tries would have given him 348 points --which shows he also "done well"
From me -a fantastic thanks to both for the privilege of watching two outstanding record makers / breakers in the claret and gold
I hope Danny and the lads go out /do the business and he finishes the season on a higher points record still !!
Well done Danny !
Well done Pat!!
