| Debate re attendances - £24 on the day not in the real world and will put of many fans who make a decision to come at the last push. Easter Monday a good example - many families will have spent up over the Fri/Sat/Sun. So this one for me had to go out at £15 with loads of activities for kids to get us 6,000 in.
Tiered pricing taking into account opposition, television, kick off time etc an absolute must.
Town now in Championship a factor ? Well their attendances have gone up but not by much and largely driven by away support. So not sure soccer is tempting sports fans away from RL.
Bad relations between Town / Giants, fuelled by the stadium share issue. A minority hold stupid extreme views on both sides, but not representative of the whole. However, there is a high level of awareness of the share issue among Town fans and it is probably putting off a section of Town support from attending Giants games. At Wembley in 2009 lots of Town fans were in the crowd.
Also noticeable that there has been no marketing of Giants games to the thousands of Town supporters on the ticket office database. From a Giants point of view this is such an obvious marketing tactic you wonder why this hasnt taken place, are we back to the problem of the shares.
So lots to chew on. But as disappointing as the attendances are, the club can't simply question the desire of the people of Huddersfield.

Nephilim? Look in the only book worth reading.: |
|
| Quote: HuddsRL5 "Was this not the purpose of RHP's survey?'"
What survey? Who was it targetted at and what incentive was there to fill it in? I keep getting bombarded with emails from the club and most of the time I never even open the emails. I was thinking more of a leaflet drop to households in general rather than a survey of existing fans. If the leaflet offered something attractive as a prize for returning the survey then maybe Ken would get some answer as to what the people of Huddersfield do want.
What about using George, Cudjoe and McGillvary and marketing them as the Giants very own "Spice Boys" (I believe these three have connections to Grenada which is known as the spice island). Maybe an offer of an entry into a draw to win a free trip to the spice island. Condition of entry being that the survey is filled in and returned.

There was quite a big deal made of it at the start of last year, it came through online via email.
While i agree with you that we need to target people who arent necessarily season ticket holders, i dont know if a letter drop is the right idea, I'd disguard one of these quicker than i would an email and it is more costly to run these to a large audience.

| maybe get some flyers/offers into pubs, workplaces etc? think i've seen it mentioned before but how about a works deal where say, 5 people take up the offer,£15 each, 10 people £10 each, 20 people £5 each? get some contact details and maybe then ask them to fill a survey in after the game and gauge reaction, if it's mainly positive, offer them a ticket for the next home game for a reduced price or even free travel to an away game?

| Quote: meast "thats harsh!
some people don't go to every game, maybe only decide on the day or day before to go to a game,so they hardly gonna spend £99 just in case they want to go to a game in future? plus the £99 tickets are cheap because the view and facilities in that stand are poor and would probably put more people off than encourage them.'"
The view is fantastic in my opinion, or at least a view i prefer, not there because of price alone. In my opinion we dont have as many do or die hardcore supporters as some other teams do besides anything else which could be done, hopefully as the team get more results and a good run in the cup will help.
