Quote: meast "how does it improve the atmosphere and bring new people in exactly?
people are deserting us in the droves and the atmosphere at home games is poor, and the music and gimmicks are probably a last gasp attempt to get people back.'"
Because the fans are split into various different groupings old men who remember the 50s, die hards who were there when the team was crap in the 80s and 90s and newcomers.
Many of the newcomers are women and kids and families.
They are the future for the club. The other two groups are the past.
It is always the other two groups who are the ones who moan. They knock the different coloured shirts, they knock the music, they think of Fartown not the Giants, they dont like the halftime entertainment.
The newcomers are the opposite. The kids love the modern music, they like different coloured shirts, they like big G and banging a drum.
There needs to be more done to attract fans and to make the whole day more interesting and FUN.
If it is FUN and exciting parents will pay to bring their kids along to keep them entertained. The balloons last season were really popular for the kids.
£ 24 for an adult seems like a lot. £24 for an adult and two kids seems like a bargain that is the sort of marketing that will get people through the doors
I have repeated ad nauseum things the club could do to add atmosphere AND IMPROVE THE GAME DAY EXPERIENCE with little or no cost but it gets nowhere.
There are things that can be done that do not include the defeatist attitude that we have to win a trophy or nothing
