Quote espanyolswan="espanyolswan"Think you could well be right Jools about the pitch.
=#FF0000Most of the youngsters who go are happy to meet Big G when he goes in their stand and I'd guess alot of the older fans do not care one way or another. Can not really say I have seen much memorable half time entertainment (well for good reasons) home or away and do not think it has much effect on crowd figures to be honest. I guess going totally OTT like the Bulls did is the only way to make a real difference but alianating the fans who care about the game not paying an X Factor reject alot of money to prance about for 5 minutes.
Sure use local celebrities for the half time draw etc and hopefully one day a Huddersfield "Bradley Wiggins" will come along who gives the club publicity and is a true fan.'"
Nail on head.
The issue is are we going to concentrate on the kids IE the supporters of the future and maybe the new fans, the kids and their mums and dads who come to the game or pander to those who hark on about the good old days of Fartown.
To me it is a no brainer.
We need to attract newer fans who have been brought up on computer games and a choice of 700 TV channels and make the GIANTS EXPERIENCE a little bit more than 80 minutes of rugby so that they want to keep coming back. Buying merchandise and SPENDING MONEY.
|I would rather 500 new fans than 100 old stalwarts ( and i put myself in the second bracket).
