Biggest argument for going with a new supplier is that after so many years with Kooga, a different supplier could create fresh interest among supporters and re-invigorate the offer.
Kooga remain a prestigious rugby sports brand, despite recent loss of RL contracts. Can another well known brand replace them and offer better tems and service ? Are there smaller brands out there that could do the job -possibly, but is it good for the image of the Giants to be associated with an unknown manufacturer you might more commonly see in the Championship ? Probably not.

Always had a soft spot for Gateshead after spending a cracking bank holiday weekend up there. had arranged to go into newcastle after and was supposed to be meeting some friends- Went into the pub next to the ground for a drink while we waited for a taxi, got talking to a load of gateshead fans one was holding their 18th or 21st in the pub after and invited us to join the party-taxi got cancelled until about 3.30 in the morning!
I seem to remember purple and yellow were their colours too.

Quote: espanyolswan "Probably because we do not sell enough shirts and they can not be d. The biggest UK club rugby contract is held by Kooga (The Ospreys) and they have given them good designs for years and their range of merchandise at The Liberty Stadium until recently put Swansea City's range to shame. Having also got the Gloucester contract it is fair to say only Leicester (and if we add in Ireland Munster) are missing off their roster interms of RU clubs who can sell the most jerseys.

I was told last season Kooga designed 2 away kits one for us one for Salford and the club which did not get the one got the other (they had the better deal with the green one than the awful grey kit we had). I think if true that sums up where we are with them in we get no real say on what they give us whilst they concentrate on RU and clubs that give them a decent profit.

In truth I do not think ISC would be much more interested than Kooga in giving us the best service and it may be better going with someone like Macron who seem to do a good job with Wakefield and have experience of doing alot of soccer clubs with similar or smaller support than we get or even Puma who have seemed to do a decent range for Castleford for years despite them being likely to be very down the peking order on the company's roster.'"

Although the design of our shirts last year was good (very traditional) the quality of the shirts Macron supplied was awful. I bought one and only wore it about twice due to it feeling so flimsy. Much preferred the quality of the Kooga ones we had a few years ago to be honest.
See my avatar for what we think this years will look like (very good IMO) but I am waiting to see what the quality is like too. No point having a great design if the quality puts people off buying it.

Fair comment and since I posted that was told Cas had problems with a poor quality Puma kit a few years back so what seems like a decent deal from the outside is not always so on the ground and guess there are pros and cons with all contracts unless you are a real big fish in the terms of their supply roster.
