We lost 3 generations of fans - 3 generations who didnt even know there was a Rugby League team in Huddersfield, i wouldn't have known if it wasn't for an ex player introducing me to it - and those that did know about it had no interest in it.
Obviously, over the years we've started to wake up and make strides towards becoming a succesful club again and a whole new generation of fans have been introduced to the club and are slowly starting to bring friends/family members to the games and get them hooked like most.
Dont forget most SL clubs have a tradition of being Rugby League hotbeds where generations of fans naturally introduce the next generation of fans to the club by taking them to games when they were younger etc, we haven't been able to do that because there was nobody around to take the kids to the games.
We're proud of how far our club and indeed our crowds have come from in the last 20 year, people forget that only a couple of decades ago we struggled to get 1000 fans to our games while most of the clubs getting good crowds now were getting them back then too !.'"
Again ,as i wrote above, thanks for your honest reply, you will get there, success will bring them back, times where hard, We're ALL proud of our clubs, been there seen it bought the t'shirt

I've said for years, the only way our crowds will rise significantly is when we win a trophy, we've done everything BUT recently and the people still wont come, it is frustrating for us long standing fans and indeed the new ones too that we have a great side but no one seems to want to come and watch it !

And to all the FC fans who think we're arrogant. We aren't. We're just happy to see our team playing well. Nothing lasts forever and we've been a long long, long time waiting for a team to be proud of. We're not predicting winning anything but hoping, just as you are, to win something, anything.
We beat you last w/end and know you had injuries. This w/end will be hard too. If we win, we'll be happy again. If not, we'll be happy if you go and win the cup. At least it'll be a different name on it. Good Luck, and may the best team win.
