I think a lot of the problem stems from the awful music that blares out after each try/goal that totally drowns out any significant chants or songs at home. When away the crowd response is better/more synchronised because no music to obscure it.
For instance what is that awful drone used awaiting the team entering the field at the GalPharm? and whatever tunes are played after try/goal etc... do they really add to the home atmosphere or detract from it?
I would suggest "those that sing" coordinate with the match DJ or whoever so that music played (if it must be) is a prompt for chants/songs to start on the terraces. Just an idea?
Finally although I hate to admit it the SL club that has this best structured as team enters field is Leeds, with a tune all fans know and recognise as a Leeds one "Marching On Together". We have "Wise Men Say" so perhaps that should be played at start and see whether crowd would sing that to welcome team on field?
