Just spotted these at an auction coming up way down in Hitchin. Out of my price League but may be of serious historical interest to the club itself

A Huddersfield Northern Union (known then as Huddersfield A C & C - Football 1890 Athletics Festival flyer and 1895 Annual Club Festival

A bound fixture list for the Union 1895 season that was never actually played as this fixture list was put out before the meeting at the George Hotel which led to Rugby League!! Historic or what?

All these can be seen at rlThe Sale Room websiterl This lists lots in real auctions coming up throughout the UK and overseas and includes the likes of Sotheby's Christies etc. These items are being sold by Football Sports Auctions at an Auction at the Travelodge Near Hitchin off Junction 8 of the M1 on 29th November.

Sorry to web moderators for this apparent plug but thought these items are one up on the usual stuff you see on Ebay and therefore of real interest to your forum readers

Excellent stuff - the Union one will be of some interest to Rugby League enthusiasts i'm sure - that sort of thing should be in the Heritage Centre

some of these sold on Ebay recently for about £50 a piece. I bid about £40 each and did not get them. The Club and heritage centre would have been well aware of them from the seller who i would have been surprised if he did not ask if they were interested.

They seem to be overpriced on the estimates i have seen on the auction site but the market will decide

I think they are quite reasonably priced particularly given that a league programme from the same date would be worth at least £400 and one pre 1895 would be pricesless, if it existed at all.

I recently bid for a 1907 programme which had punch holes in it and got massively out bid - it went for £225!!!

Anything pre 1900 is a serious item and anything from before the schism is actually historic
