That's the same Carvell who was all set to sign for Saints, then accepted (and did sign ) a new contract with FC which meant that FC got £50k for him when they'd have got sod all from Saints. I should imagine that the £50k 'had a sizeable impact on assisting FC's recruitment for that year'. Merely part of the professional transfer merry-go-round.
