BUFFALOES BUILD FUTURE WITH PPD
Tingley-based building firm PPD (Leeds) Ltd has helped to construct a bright new future for community-owned rugby league club Bramley Buffaloes after agreeing to become main sponsor for the 2009 season.
PPD works on domestic building projects across the Yorkshire region and they will now be featuring on the front of the Buffaloes shirts for the duration of their National League season. The company recently featured on the ITN news as part of a news item on the property market.
Graham Nash, Managing Director of PPD, has a strong background in the thirteen-a-side code. He plays for Dewsbury amateur side Shaw Cross Sharks and his uncle is former Featherstone scrum half Steve Nash, widely recognised as one of Great Britain’s finest international half backs.
Bramley Buffaloes Chair Martyn Cheney exclaimed: “We were facing an uncertain future without a main sponsor and our very existence was under threat until PPD showed an interest.
“Their sponsorship secures our future and we’re all immensely grateful to Graham and his team for their support,” added Martyn who secured a number of lucrative sponsorship deals after issuing a public plea for help in February. Unions RMT and Unison along with National Express, print firm Resource and PR agency PRomotion are also getting behind the team.
“I’m delighted to be backing the Buffaloes who were on the look out for a new shirt sponsor,” explained Graham. “Bramley has a very proud rugby tradition and it’s great to know that we’ll be on board as they bid to reach a fifth consecutive Grand Final.
“I know the new Bramley coach Mark Butterill very well and many others in the team and I’m sure they will bring continued success to West Leeds,” he added.
