[iONE HUNDRED UP FOR MIGHTY FLYNN [/i
At 25 Shaun Flynn is already a Bramley Buffaloes veteran having just become the first player from the community owned club to reach 100 appearances.
The flying winger, well known for his multi coloured hair and dazzling pace, wasn’t aware of the milestone until it was mentioned to him last week after the victory at Liverpool and he’s pleased as punch!
“I knew the landmark was coming but didn’t know exactly when it would be!” exclaimed Shaun who has notched 38 tries in his time with the Buffaloes.
He first pulled on the Amber and Black aged 19 in the club’s first season back and has played an integral part in every season since notching up three Grand Final appearances and a clutch of awards and accolades along the way.
Shaun went on: “It’s just such a great team to play for with the great support we get and a set of lads who are second to none. My personal highlight was the game against Manly as it came just after the high of beating Hemel at Warrington.
“We’ve seen a lot of changes this season with Mark taking over and training is totally different. It’s delivering the results on the field which is what counts!” added Shaun who admits that his favourite try was a stunning length of the field score against Featherstone Lions two years ago.
Bramley coach Mark Butterill is magnanimous in his praise for the former West Bowling and Odsal Sedbergh flyer: “Flynny has been with Bramley since the very start and played a major role in all of our successes since 2003.
“He’s a great player, very reliable and I can’t think of a game where he hasn’t give 100%. He’s good for a laugh and massively respected by the other players and it’s only apt that he’s become the first new Bramley player to notch 100 games,” added Butterill whose side face Huddersfield Rangers at home this Saturday (2.30pm).
Six years on and Flynny is still flying high and mighty!
