Who else thinks that the SL should go to two officials out on the field i watch a lot of NRL and it seems to speed the play the balls up and less messing around in the tackle less offsides. I think something needs to be done as the standard of refs this season all through the league as been terrible hicks was bad for both sides last night I think the RFL should seriously consider it

Or of a good enough standard. Refs from the conference league are getting fast tracked and are not good enough

It could be a good way of bringing on junior refs rather than be thrown in alone.
Contribute to decisions, get used to the pace of the game, the crowd, watch for off the ball stuff.

Let's not get back to Refs, last night I thought Hicks a very good game,but I've said before Ref bashing is not what I like.

Agree that two refs would certainly clean up the rucks which are a very unedifying spectacle. However, it might be a start to get the TJ's to do their job first. In the Wigan match the bloke on our right in the second half was incredible: he missed several forward passes, was only two yards from where Marshall kicked the ball straight at Dawson and then, according to TV, said that Burgess had scored when he clearly knocked the ball on.

i think mr hicks got all the video ref calls correct,saying that,i would still go with two refs.we are all eager to have a go when they make a mistake,so we should give them all the help we can.he had a good game,lets give him a bit of credit.

Doesn't every game have a reserve official?
Why not use them anyway?

They would need a reserve for that official.

I know already touched on this but watched two of the 3 NRL games this morning and the two refs is a must for next season the game moves a lot smoother the sooner tithe better for me

Well lets think about it! Not on Sky would require two in-goal judges with reserves. One ref with a reserve and your second ref requiring a reserve.

Eight officials for one match? We have 9 games a week not on sky.

Do the math with the current officials and see if you can meet it.

The RFL should stop throwing money into these overseas clubs and concentrate on making our home grown rugby a better game and more competitive and better to watch
