He has never carried a club himself--usually its the club that carries him. I hope he can reach some kind of decent level of performance--but not against us!!!

| It was a good night.Well done to everyone who played a part.
Millward indicated beforehand he would be re-instating the post game events we had at HP.
Looks like thats not the case though. To be asked for another £40 is a bit silly.Pre match entertainment, relay of the last away game, the Millward interview, sound ideas if the set up is right and everyone can see and hear,
but has the penny still not dropped.
Season ticket leaflet said "offer" but no early bird, no link to shirts, no incentive for the friendlies.
Bradshaw told us sponsorship/lottery was up, feeling in the room was good, but they were preaching to the converted.
We need to look after the ones we have and maintain momentum to find some new ones.
So far as the squad goes we look short on numbers. From what IM said he clearly would have let some go had they not been on contract.Lets hope we can get enough game time from our experienced additions to make an impact.
Finally, somebody sort the ale out!! £6+ for two glasses of dishwater.

| Put another way you can go into the Banqueting Suite, take in the interviews and previous action, then take a seat in one of the best grounds in RL watching Ian Millwards team play rugby as we know how it should be played, then go back into the Banqueting Suite for after match interviews, presentations, speak with the players, and enjoy other entertainment laid on.
All for around £13 a game and £3 for the under 11's.

| Take your blinkers off and give it some thought.I know that will be difficult.
We live in difficult times and in a depressed area. Its not a social club for the sack cloth n ashes brigade, leyther til I die mob .We need them +3500.
Simple numbers game at the bottom line, more money we get more we have to invest.
A rugby town, well are we ?.We have lost generations of fans, our amateur teams are asking for players. Our own council, through lsv seem, if we believe all we hear, to continually want us to jump through hoops for any slight gain.

Do they offer 'extras' at LSV then? I didn't think it was that kind of place!!

| I won't be paying for £40 extra.
The thing is, I'd be on my own. My 3 mates who get season tickets, said NO CHANCE. So I'll 'go with the flow', not a bad idea, as a lump sum seems a bit steep, but £ per game, not bad at all.

| Its a good deal for those happy to pay , a bad un for those not willing to
In fairness it sounds a bargain when you word it like AlexDad did, a thought for next year - word it so it looks a bargain and we really might get a take on it.
However at least the club is starting to realise the finacial revenues it can tap into without even having to try to hard.
Still hoping the club realises it needs to do some sort of 'family deal' for 2010.
For example at Bury FC its 20quid pay on day , alternatively 16quid 1 adult 1 child family stand - a good deal (and i'll ignore the comments from Lether Matt etc in advance ) that is aimed at getting a few on the people interested in the club who will spend money in the future (lets be honest if you take a child to a match you usually end up paying for far more than just the admittance to the ground - programme, drink, something to eat , hat , scarf, posters etc etc all add to the clubs coffers)

| Presumably the £40 banqueting suite thing would only be open to West Stand ticket holders anyway? If so it'll probably rule North standers like our lot out, but at least the club are trying some new ideas out.
And if the club can find something people want to be part of and it brings a few quid in then good luck to them. Whether it happens to be my taste, or anybody else's is irrelevant - like Fred says, if you don't like what's on offer just exercise your right not to buy into it, but don't slag the club off for trying to offer something new.
Good news that Basil wants to bring back the feelgood factor and include the fans more as well. It's been too long since the club tried to make the fans feel part of what was going on, and IMHO attendances in recent years have suffered because of that as well as fortunes on the field. With a fan-friendly outlook and a few decent ideas thrown in we'll have something to try and build on to make game days more enjoyable irrespective of the result, and hopefully encourage a few more fans back.
