Without wishing to over-simplify the problem between Centurions and the LSV, it needs all parties to get round a table and thrash out the issues. It's certainly been done before, to my knowledge.

The idea of a major stadium in Leigh, not being used by the local professional rugby club, is too ridiculous to contemplate! It won't be allowed to happen.

Correct, and if every counsellor with a Leigh ward do not move heaven and earth to stop it happening, then they should all be turfed out of office at the very next opportunity. And that goes for the MP as well. And Burnham can do one as Mayor of Greater Manchester, and President of the RFL, plus whatever other pointless titles he has accumulated!

Possibly Andy Burnham is assisting on making sure something that goes through includes the club.

On Rugby League Extra tonight - Keith (Chairman of L.I.S.A.) was on and he was stressing the point - A. Burnham, J. Platt etc. with regards to the L.S.V.

One of the presenters stated that A. Burnham was the guest next week (6 PM Thursday on GMR) and he should ring and ask him.

I have a feeling that Keith will do just that as he came across very passionately about this very subject.

For those who didn't know there is a L.I.S.A. meeting on Wednesday at 7 PM in the LSV boardroom and it is open to non L.I.S.A. members.

We just need to seperate the LSV from the Club.. The LSV is the whole village, not just the stadium. A bid was placed to buy the stadium £65M, refused as in buy all or nowt as the council cant afford the LSV. Its not running at a loss its just something they can't afford to run.

Hence there is a new deal on the table,which includes the club and thats me not going any further.

All very interesting, you are in the same boat as Fax, don’t own the ground so cannot use it to generate income, you could have 6000 crowds who half buy a beer and a pie and you get nothing from it. It’s a very difficult position to be in and only getting gate money makes it even tougher, especially if you have to play 5-6 games away in a row.
On the player front, all your FT players may not get a new contract if you go part-time as that would cut the number o f available clubs again, and if the same happens at Widnes then there are even fewer FT posiotions available. I’d be pretty annoyed if my company decided to stop paying me, these guys are not on footballers wages and therefore I doubt they have thousands stashed away, it’s a short career and somebody potentially looking to take around 10% of your career earnings off you isn’t funny.
