DB's column in the observer seems pretty open about the logic of signing 2 half backs after Rangi left. Seems as much about stopping others signing Burns as feeling we need to strengthen in that area. Can't say I agree with it, but time will tell.

Burns has the ability to tear up the championship, whether people agree with it or not there can be no sentiment where a goal is being aimed for. Yes we can have opinions, mine is we needed that little bit extra in the halves to possibly have an impact in the 8s. There is no issue in the forwards, its the backs that may be the weak link in the 8s. I am ready to enjoy the ride again with that extra little spark that has been added.

From what I understand there was an "issue" with the paperwork last week which halted the move, I expect that will be sorted this week with a move to Wakey or elsewhere . Sadly after watching yesterdays performance we missed riddy's game management and his goal kicking. Riddy is at least a 10 point a game man with the boot. 8 years service seems to have been forgotten which is a huge shame

There has been a contract offered to Ridy with a substantial increase prior to the signing of Burns as I understand. To date he has not taken up that offer. The club have to plan for the future as well as now. Wait too long and any decent available players will get fixed up elsewhere.

I would say listening to NJ post interview,Riddy has made his mind up.

Yesterday's performance was typical of our play when Ridyard doesn't play! I'm certain Riddy would have supplied the pass to get us over Fev's line, when we pressurised them in the second half?
I was bitterly disappointed with our performance yesterday and our half backs were largely anonymous ! like most fans I was eagerly awaiting to see our new half backs together however, I'm worried now!
I hope we are not making a massive mistake in allowing Riddy to leave? I presume he only wants to go as he see's his roll to be reduced with Burns becoming first choice!
Anthony Thackeray once again dominated the game against us! he is definitely the best half back in this division and he's proved it don't matter which club he's at! whether it be Widnes, Dewsbury, Sheffield or Halifax he always stars against us!
Him and Workington's Gerrard Sammut would be more than a match for any half back combination!
Appreciate Burns and Drinkwater combined for the first time and, our forward pack is somewhat depleted at the moment but, it is worrying!

. Leigh don't want him to leave. He's had an offer on the table for four weeks with a 20% pay increase! He's chosen not to sign it and wait until later in the season to see what alternative offers he can get. What are the club supposed to do, just wait around?
