| trying to put biases aside..its a good decision for him.
He can (in theory ) still join a super league club (if we dont get a franchise  ) in the next year or two, having built up some solid experience in the lower league and building up his reputation.
He will be playing at a great stadium with a great coach and great fans.
Why risk going to Salford, getting stuck in the reserves, play at a crappy ground and stuck in a losing environment, not to mention the risk of not getting a franchise..

This is the reason Leigh Centurions need to have strong, solid links to Leigh East and Leigh Miners. Well done to all concerned who got this deal going and have got it complete.
Higson
Pownall
Ridyard
and now hopefully Hopkins all recent additons to the club from amatuer clubs in Leigh.
Not to mentioned
the likes of Mort, Meekin, Taylor and even Bibey, Hartley etc who played at East/Miners before going to play pro and join Leigh. In the reserves/21s/u20s whatever it is, there's also Ryan O'Toole another prospect from Leigh East who been told he'll have the chance to play first team if he keeps progressing.
