Months ago, it was touted Leutele to Leigh and McDonald to Leeds.
The rumour has now come true.
Shrewd bit of business from Leigh in my opinion. Go Well Nene, and thanks for the memories.
Although Nene did well for us in Championship I’m excited to see Leutele stride out for Leigh next season, Macdonalds performances dipped towards the end but maybe as he knew where his future lay , some decent options in the back line with Leutele , Chamberlin , Hardaker and possibly Ferguson in the centre spots with Brand throwing his cap in the ring. Would like to see Hardaker at FB but think O Brien will take that berth

Charlie, you will see in other posts my opinion on DB is that he should be applauded for the team and the good times, but his taste in clothing is reflected in the new top. No style, no class. Just make a proper rugby shirt. Personally, I wouldn't be seen dead in it and by the large number of comments I've seen, neither will a lot of other folk. At least he's been forced to back-pedal on retaining our traditional colours. And as I've posted before I don't like the fact that he thinks the fans are only intelligent enough to be consulted for naming the mascot, which I see is inspired by a really tacky programme, The Masked Singer lol. I can imagine Les Battersby will be inside it icon_smile.gif

Evening, Evvo, hope you are well? La jeunesse Madame de Bongseur has a degree in Zoology and seems to know what she tells Bongser to scribble. Who knows, with this new animalian interest, she might actually attend her first RL game next season?!

I have a ready made wardrobe ready to go as a leopards fan so I’m happy
Team looking good
My fav player (Ben) may not get many games this season but it depends how injuries go this time
Everytime we’ve been in SL we have have gone through a lot of players

First game was in 1967, and have been hooked since day 1. Now live in Vancouver, Canada but follow our team any way I can. “Up The Comics !”:17580.jpg

Going in with 3 quality halves is a very shrewd approach. Ben with either other half will more than hold his own and we will need all three at some point. I thought he was excellent last year and his defence and effort all around cannot be ignored. He is also a reliable kicker as a bonus. There will be a few of our rivals that do not have the strength in depth we have in the halves.

Can add O’Brien to the Trio of half backs , admittedly more of a FB but can easily play in the halves should be needed and we have decent cover at FB in Hardaker, agree with coverage that Reynolds brings and as Binosh alludes to we could do with some props

Very true re O’Brien LC. I was completely forgetting that.
Quality prop or two more needed for sure also.

Hardaker on his day is still possibly the top fullback in superleague will be very surprised if he starts at centre , with leutelle being a cert it's up to chamberlain to put a stamp on the other centre spot , O'Brien will be a cracking back up for full back and the halves . We are very fortunate to be in a position to switch hardaker / chamberlain and O'Brien to what suits the team best as the season progresses but I'm sure Zak would have made it clear what his preferred position is

I stated about 5 weeks ago,as from Nov 1st,Luke Thompson (British) is a free agent. How much he will want however is another matter.Marquee player perhaps, that`s if we don`t already have one.

We all have opinions on what is needed for next year to compete , it’s everyone’s opinion we need a couple of big experienced props , easy to say , hard to find .
Another opinion of mine is we have signed and re signed a couple of players who would struggle to get into a SL first team , we have given contracts to a couple who couldn’t get into our team last year , granted they won’t be in big contracts , but if you put them together , maybe we could bid for a big experienced prop.
