Does anyone on here seriously believe that Wigan Council will chuck Leigh out of LSV? There is apparently a dispute here, over the level of rent expected to be paid by Leigh - rent that was apparently increased when we got relegated. (and therefore when our ability to pay, was severely diminished) Disputes over the terms of rent have been a continuing theme, ever since LSV was built.

I would be incredibly surprised if this particular dispute wasn't resolved. It is in LSV's interest to have the town team as anchor tenants. As for United fielding two sides at LSV, well, providing the playing surface can take it, surely that is in the interests of all parties - better two tenants paying rent, than none, surely?

No doubt rent got increased because reduced crowds means reduced income from other sources I.e. Catering - that's business. Very very difficult as I assume MU are providing more funds despite minimal crowds

Sure it will, all ge sorted much to Peter Kate's disappointment- onwards and upwards LTID icon_thumb.gif

The LSV was designed for SL ' that's where it works , outside SL it doesn't , the solution ? Triple our attendances

As for us being replaced by various United teams , well they could be gone at the drop of a hat , so we won't be going anywhere

Agreed.

It shows how interested United really are in womens' football, to play their games so far from the city. But then again, their very own stadium isn't in Manchester either, is it? icon_wink.gif

If we do leave it might backfire on the LSV more than us. Whether that’s playing at Laburnum Rovers. Athy Colls or wherever. The LSV would definitely lose money that way and might negotiate a better deal?

The whole thing just stinks of blinkered mismanagement. I’m thankful for what Beaumont did for us. But I’m sure as glad he’s leaving.

I’d much rather start again with a supporter trust than be another businessman’s plaything.

I feel Peter Kay gets bullied on here and it needs to stop, everyone is entitled to their opinion right or wrong,

Not sure how you arrive at bullying from my post. We are all entitled to an opinion and he and you for that matter only ever seem content when there is some bad news around, that is my opinion.

I am sure you will be able to point to some positive posts you have submitted on here. Your reply to mine on yesterday's game was the only one I can recall.

The current struggles with the LSV are the exact same that Arthur Thomas was having to deal with in 2008.

I seem to particularly recall one incident of Arthur almost being knocked off his feet when the LSV quote for the 'rental' of one extra club desk in the office was returned to him. And this is a man who's business was well established in dealing in quotes of 6 or 7 figures !

'Peter Kay'' is more than aware that the club have always had to, are currently, and always will in the future need to manage LSV's expectations off the club.

This is all nothing new.

Yes it is, Old Trafford the area & the postcode in which the the Stadium sits is a Manchester City Council area, Manchester City is in the Beswick area & the same.
To be truly in Manchester would entail both grounds being in roughly 1 square mile in the City of Manchester.

Thought it was in Stretford Ste? Isn't that a town in its own right, in Greater Manchester? Anyway, LSV definitely isn't in a Manchester postcode! icon_wink.gif

Seriously, I have no problems at all with United playing at LSV. (or Blackburn before them) The important point surely is that they bring extra revenue to LSV, which could be used to reduce a heavy financial burden on Leigh Centurions. As for the owner's stated complaint of them having two home games scheduled for Sundays in February/March, that can easily be avoided by a Leigh club requesting away fixtures on those dates, It is a common problem for clubs sharing with a football team.
