The only people who have been saying we need to appeal the decisions are those who have been using their cherry & white hearts rather than their rational heads!'"
The thing is though is that the appeal was against the length of ban,he pleaded guilty to the offence. He has now been punished the same as Ben Flower. unbelievable

So would you keep him or not, given our position and future status?

| Just a thought, If this occurred on the last game of the 8s, Would they have given him 4 months then?
BTW - I would keep him.

Careless? It was pointless- he had no reason to go anywhere near bird for the purpose of playing the game of rugby league. Was he involved in the original tackle? Was he tackling a player with the ball? Was he attempting to get the ball? If you think this is ok based on the crap you've witnessed in the championship then perhaps you'd be better off going back there!
I hope you are playing devils advocate because you can't truly think this is an acceptable action for a professional RL player.

he migth have been expecting Bird to return to his feet so he could square up to show his disaproval , Bird stayed down then Acton put him back down , its not as though he did a Ben Flower , I couldnt actually beleive he got banned at all , see simila every other week.

| Bird could have been laid there with a neck injury, so for Acton to do what he did wasn't just pointless, it was utter stupid

He could have spontaneously exploded too , Acton could have done a Ben Flowers and you could say the same thing when any player pics an opposing player up after a tackle , hes been done for a late challenge , it wasnt really a challenge.

Would Jamie having not played for 3 months be fit ?
He'd be coming back into the last 1/2 games , both most probably highly charged pressure games , is that a good idea with him trying to make amends for getting banned ? , he'd be trying too hard and that could be counter productive
So not much to lose

| Quote: THECherry&Whites "The tribunal increased the sentence due to the fact the appeal was a joke. They have done this before when clubs have appealed against an open and shut case. Why we appealed is beyond me when we knew that it was almost guaranteed the sentence would get increased.'"
Using this thought process as a premise for not appealing appears somewhat flawed IMHO.
Looking at 'criminal law' cases where a for example a person or persons have been wrongly imprisoned & using this reasoning that a sentence would be "almost guaranteed the sentence would be increased", why would any innocent person ever appeal ?
I am not suggesting Jamie is innocent, more that the original & subsequent increased punishment does not fit the crime !
I also ask, how independent is this panel, who pays their salaries & how much 'influence' over them might the RFL have ?
This is something I would like to see put before CAS (Court of Arbitration for Sport) but it won't happen.
Seems to me the sport has a cancer & it needs cutting out !

I agree with Ste100 centurions. We need more transparency about the choice of these independent panels. Is it just co incidence that one member was an ex Hull KR player and the other an ex chairman of the same club? Haven't these two members of the panel a vested interest in the case?
