Better but still improvement needed before we go to Odsal. Thought Oldham didn't look out of place in The Championship kicked very well (we need to kick better) & attacked our line well. Thought we looked a lot better in attack than last week, Chase played very well, Smith had a good game and Higson was excellent both in attack & defence & was man of the match for me. However yet again our defence especially out wide looked very week. Need to get the attitude that a set defended on our line is worth just as much (if not more) than a try scored, that definitely needs fixing before the Super 8s as better teams will really punish poor defence. One big thing we need to improve on though is support play, for a team that loves the offload & has players like Hock, Chase & Higham who'll always be looking to pass the ball we could have had 3 or 4 more trys if players were running along side and supporting the player with the ball. Impressed by how much Foster has bulked up but he still lacks the experience & made some basic errors, think he needs to spend a season out on loan before playing first team for me. Higham was excellent as ever though. Better but still need to improve before we go to Bradford & the same old problems are still very evident.

Quote: Peter Kay "We are off the mark - it's not a sprint but a marathon. Tough few weeks ahead but once we hit the dry pitches, this team is capable of breaking records.
Dukesy will have the lads fired up and raring to go!

JUST DON'T EXPECT 60 POINTS EVERY WEEK!'"

I don't, but I expect it against Oldham

Are you NJ? icon_wink.gif great guess eusa_clap.gif Only Foster out who I though had a great game, strong in defence for his size and hopefully will learn a lot this season under Highams guidance.

Smith had a good debut and showed that we won’t hopefully miss McNally as much as first feared.

Hanson showing his class, Hoppy has had a great start to the season, and Higham is just so reliable and consistent.

Was a little disappointed that Armstrong had to play as long as he did when clearly injured, why didn’t we move Hanson to centre, until Riddy was ready to come back on?

I think Riddy maybe rested next week against London, but if so then I hope that Patterson plays as neither Chase or Kez can lead us around the park like Riddy does.

Stiffer test next week against London. That should tell us where we are better than our first two games.

Agree with you on everything there apart from Foster. I'm impressed by how he's bulked up which was my main concern about him last season but I thought he showed his inexperience & made a few silly mistakes. Think like Reynolds he's a really exciting prospect for the future but needs to spend a season out on loan getting experience playing every week before he can make an impact in our first team.
I'm a big McNally fan but it's going to be very interesting when he becomes fit again who gets that number 1 jersey.

I got some stick for saying I'd drop Brierley this week but I think it was the right thing to do. However with Ridy's knock & how we seemed to be lacking someone running along side the player with the ball, ready to take the offload, I'd drop Ridy & play Ryan next week. Think Rangi has been playing excellently & this will give us chance to see how each combination works before going to Odsal.

That comment reminds me, I think at one point in the first half Armstrong made a great break and Foster was backing him up running through the chasing Oldham pack but Armstrong didn't off load as I think he took Forster to be one of the defenders. Anyway what I'm trying to say is ......Was it only me (and possibly Armstrong icon_wink.gif ) who found the kits were a little to close to one another?

I said that as soon as I saw them come out Martin. Bit daft and it it was muddy you wouldn't tell them apart.
