On occasion that would be the right thing to do, but with a 2 on 1 stepping inside and getting tackled isn't. That is my point.

Tom Armstrong is the best all round centre in the championship bar none. The lad has it all he's got the perfect athletic physique for a centre reasonable pace great footwork and can defend and also knows were the line is. Speaking with Liam Kay at the Hilton Park pub yesterday he stated he's really enjoyed playing outside such a top quality centre this season.

When we played Leeds he was the best outside back on the park and that is some compliment when you look at the players that were on that pitch that night and the only reason he's not been playing SL for the last few years since leaving Saints IMO is because he chose PT RL and a University education which is a very wise move looking long term.

I'm led to believe Tom was subject to some serious enquiries from TOP SL teams prior to signing of his new FT deal at Leigh and how anyone can find any fault with such a top class performer is completely beyond me but as they say everyone is entitled to an opinion......

Not only has it been a great season for our Teams performances , but some players have excelled this year , mostly the usual suspects ,Riddy , Ryan B , Tom Spenner , Tom G ,BOTH Hookers and Kay , but for me Tom Armstrong has been a Revelation , pure class ,its been a pleasure to watch our team this year , and the ride that is Leigh Centurions is not over yet .Cant wait for Sunday .

Tom Armstrong has been excellent this year. I think he started off good and has just seemed to get better and better almost every game. In my opinion (admittedly slightly biased) he should have been man of the match at the Leeds game.

Tom Armstrong is a class act, no doubt about that and as I posted earlier in the thread he his developing into a top player. In a couple of years we could be talking about one of the games top centres here.

Thats how highly I rate him.

Find it quite bizarre how somebody who 'admittedly' hardly ever goes watching Leigh now, can't stay off here.
