At his best, CJ was great in the top flight. NT may well have been at that level, but never really had the chance to prove it. Hard call, but CJ on proven 'form'.

Platt was class in a crap team. Huddart wasn't. I know he was signed after a mercurial performance for Hunslet one wet Wednesday night at Elland Road, and didn't really show that form for us, but it's worth remembering how bad we were that Hunslet destroyed us. Admittedly for a while I thought he had a German mother and a Russian father and his real name was Gert Plattiov.

BTW I was one of the six hundred at Elland Road. But if everyone who claimed they were there was actually there, they'd have been queueing all the way to Headingley.

Collier was a great fullback but timed his career badly to coincide with Johnson. I'd take Syd in the pack over Collier, but have Collier on the bench rather than Syd if that were the choice.
